This is old news. Even a 10 pound at loss relieves so much pressure. I have very bad knees and have started keto to loose weight so dr can do surgery. This has been a bad keto week for me due to a big family wedding and traveling.

a 5-unit decrease in BMI ... reduced the odds of incidence and progression by 21.65%.If you are already at a reasonable weight, a 5-unit decrease in BMI is extreme. Probably these results only apply to grossly overweight persons.

My wife is an ortho PA. Overweight people get offended when it's suggested their knee, foot and lower back problems are exacerbated by the extra weight.
Imagine a medical provider having the temerity to suggest some common sense advice. Especially when the fatso wants a miracle cure surgery.
