Damn....it's brutally hot...

Posted on 09/06/2022 12:39:48 PM PDT by Kevin in California

The entire state of California is a cinder box right now. Just stepped outside to grab my mail and it was sweltering. Looks like it's 103 right now. Supposed to peak at 106 but I'm guessing 110.

Hope you're all staying cool...

108 here in Placer County at this hour.

Yesterday I was looking at videos on the Weather Channel site, one of which was explaining how global warming is making the hurricane season start earlier. This on September 5, with no hurricanes yet this season. They never stop

Maybe Kalifornia Assembly can make hot weather illegal.

Summers can be nice there. You should go tubing on the New! Miss that.

Maybe we should send axes to the residents of the People’s Republic of Vermin-T. They have plenty of trees. But oh no, that would increase their carbon footprints.

It’s hot in Florida too - but OUR Governor isn’t threatening to turn off our air conditioning...

Consider moving to Florida - conservatives always welcome.

Starting Saturday we get mid-80s for 10 days, and hopefully till winter.

Our A/C has been on the fritz for months so we are toughing it out. I can't remember it being so brutally hot WITH high humidity for such a long stretch. We've even lost our cool night breezes.

End of whine.

Joshua Tree maybe. For the others it depends on what you mean by “normal”

If you mean normal in that some summers get that hot, then yes.

If you mean normal like its always that hot in summer then no.

Intentionally or not you managed to pick three different climate zone.

I’ve lived just outside of DC all my life (and don’t believe in man-caused climate change); but I don’t recall when we had a summer of such sustained high-temps; it seems to have been more rainy, too.

Those nuclear power plants CA shut down could be running a lot of air conditioners.

103 degrees? I wonder if the sidewalk sizzles when homeless drug addicts drop a turd.

The weather channel is the msnbc of weather news.

They literally try to WILL hurricanes into existence every season.

And like this year if there are none they talk about hurricanes from 20 years ago and continually spout the global warming bullshit like its settled science.

Disgusting weather hyperbole 24/7

I pray that God will send weather relief to the many, many good people in California, among them some of my favorite relatives.

My grandson recently decided to move back to California because he couldn’t stand another Pennsylvania winter.

He’s on the road right now, and I hope the infernal hot temps will depart when he gets there.

Once I learned home heating oil and #2 diesel from the pump are virtually identical I began using diesel to heat my home here in Maryland, saving several hundred dollars a year.

Currently, HHO is about $1.50/gallon in Montgomery county.

We also burn about 1 cord of wood a year.

Takes a little effort to fill a 55 gallon drum in my truck and transfer to the 275 gal tank a few times but it gives me a warm and fuzzy 🥰 feeling.

I also do filter changes, jet changes and burn adjustments.
