The danger to the country is not war, but economic collapse. There is no willingness from either party to slow down government spending, and no effort to try to restore value to our money. Eventually, this inflation will lead to a vibrant black market and alternate economy that will be used by people who are productive. Cryptocurrency will be the center of this.
