🆕Due to the energy crisis, the British will be banned from cooking until eight in the evening and pubs will only work until nine. People will be prohibited from using washing machines, dishwashers and ovens between 2pm and 8pm. Pubs will turn off lights at 9pm and last orders will be taken at 8.30pm (c) Daily Mail

60% of factories could close due to rising electricity prices (c) Bloomberg.

British media:

Today it emerged that Britons could be asked to limit energy use this winter to head off blackouts by avoiding using gas and electricity at peak times in a move that will hit every part of life. At home people may be encouraged not to use washing machines, dishwashers and ovens between 2pm and 8pm while charging cars before 9pm is also not advised when similar measures were imposed in the US this year. Abandoning the family weekday dinner at 6pm or the Sunday roast at 5pm may be required and moved to after 8pm or swapped for a cold dinner or leftovers.

There is new information from Gazprom about the Nordstream 1 pipeline shutdown. They are saying that oil leaks has been detected in three turbines, and that the only place these turbines can be repaired is only in Canada.

This war is showing the blatant idiocy, and enormity behind the globalism canard.

The past 30 years of globalization has lowered the West’s standard of living by orders of magnitude.

Now most of Europe is at the mercy of bad actors like Putin. And the rest of us at the mercy of China for many staples of life, like medicine.

Way to go globalist scum.

This works both ways and is really short term. Over the next several months, it definitely hurts Europe. The other side is, declining oil revenues cut Russia's funding for the war. Long term, the rest of thew world will boost production and Europe gets its energy from other countries.

Politically, Russia has destroyed any trust it has to do business with Europe. If Europe can't trust Russian energy supplies, they will get it and keep getting it from other countries. This will hurt Russia's economy long term.

There is no point in buying energy from Russia, when high energy prices means Russia has a the wealth to invade another country.

Europe needs a revitalized Marshal Plan focusing on oil and especially natural gas from the United States. Unfortunately that would require a president with a functional brain attached to a fortified backbone.

Sean Davis [The Federalist]:
In one of the dumbest geopolitical moves in history, Europe outsourced its energy industry to Russia, laughed at everyone who said that was moronic, and then proceeded to wage a proxy war against the country that now has a monopoly on the continent’s gas and electricity. What did you idiots think was going to happen? My word.

Russian energy giant Gazprom says it can’t resume the supply of natural gas through a key pipeline to Germany because of technical problems. German officials have called Russia’s previous reductions through Nord Stream 1 a political power play.

This is what the Western Europeans WANTED.

They support the cutoff of all LNG and oil from Russia.

Be careful what you wish for.

All of Western Europe is now scrounging for firewood and/or coal. They will show those Russians !

How to have a nuclear war without ever dropping a bomb: invade Ukraine, cut off energy to Europe, get clumsy with a nuclear reactor...in a short time you could thoroughly depopulate Europe.

Cutting your enemy off from outside resources to starve them is a classic siege tactic. Of course, this is exactly what the West (led by the US and other globalists) intended by imposing economic “sanctions” to cut Russia off from financial resources. Can anyone see the irony in this?

The divide seems to be between those who agreed with Trump on Europe ending its trust in and dependency on Russia and the leftist anti-nuke, anti-coal, anti-energy crowd, and those who are pro-Russia and deeply oppose Trump and support the opposite of what he advised and what conservatives want for Europe and its energy and the fight against the anti-energy movements.

Doubt mechanical issues is the reason. Frankly I’m sure Russia would do fine selling just to China. Russia will gladly put the screws to Europe at least for now.
