We need to stop using any of the left’s preferred euphemisms. “Illegal alien” is what is in the law. “Invader” is also accurate.
“30-Year Fixed Mortgage Rates⁰
Trump: 2.65%
Biden: 6.28%⁰
This adds $200,000 in interest payments for a $500,000 house”
That puts it an understandable perspective. Horrible.
I think you have to weigh a certain amount before some automatic doors will open for you. I am smaller than average, and I have come across a few that would not open for me!
I don’t know about using vinegar as an ingredient, but I ALWAYS make my pie crusts from scratch. They taste better. Here goes my method:
Ingredients:
Perhaps about 2 cups flour
Between 1/2 and 3/4 cups white CRISCO only. I have been told that lard works better. I don’t know; I’ve never used it.
Drops of water to hold the flour together.
The water and crisco ought to be quite, quite cold, but not frozen.
Directions:
Use a fork or pastry cutter, to slice the crisco into the flour. DO NOT “stir” it, but push the implement through the crisco into the flour. Lift the implement and repeat. You may want to twist the tool when it reaches the bottom of the bowl.
Repeat this until the crisco is incorporated into flour so that the mixture is in beads about the size of small peas. Be careful not to overwork the dough.
Now, add drops of water and now, using short strokes, you may “stir”, carefully, the water into the dough. This helps release the gluten in the pastry crust and will hold it together when you work it.
Too much water and the crust will be tough. Too little and the crust will not hold together. Go slowly. If you use to much water, then add small amounts of water.
Generously flour a flat surface for rolling. I find it helpful to roll/smear the dough around on the counter to leave a sheen of grease. Then, I add the flour. The flour sticks to the surface better. The purpose of the flour at this point is to keep the dough from sticking to itself. Generously grease the rolling pin. I use a wooden pin. I have used an empty bottle which was long enough. I guess I could have filled it with chilled water to help keep the dough cold. Marble rolling pins have the same effect.
As you roll out the dough, sprinkle flour throughout to keep the dough from sticking. I roll the dough firmly from the center to the outside, releasing pressure as I reach the edge. This helps keep the shape.
Roll out the dough until it is about 1/8” to 1/3” thick. No, I don’t measure.
When it is the size you wish, fold it in half without breaking the folded edge. Then fold that in half again, making a quarter-round. Lift from the work surface to the pie plate and unfold. Repair the crust with leftover pastry using water as a glue between the surfaces.
I hope this help. Haven’t proof-read. Experiences may vary as I trained as a musician and not a baker.
Ha! Exactly how I refer to the illegal invaders, and, always have.
lots of trial and error over the years!
They never measured a thing and I'm guilty of the same as them. Practice makes perfect,is all I can say. ;) Watched my mother and both grandmothers forever on this!
Works like a charm. ;)
Yes, practice makes perfect. I never measure either. There are many variations on making a pie crust. It is easy and it is hard. The best way is to do it over and over and make adjustments as you go. Do what works.

Thank you for the recipe and tips!
Black or Navy Blue, with pearls.
I have seen articles from various sources commenting how the ladies of the Royal family have all chosen the same color, black, to honor the Queen at the funeral. I thought, OF COURSE YOU WEAR BLACK, DONG (which means “idiot” in Bahasa Indonesia).
It is entirely right and proper to be sad when a loved one, or any human being dies. A human, made in the image of God, has ceased this earth. I hope there will be at least one person who will be sad when I die. I hope they won’t be throwing a party and dancing.
And that is why somber colours (see what I did there?) are worn. You regret their deaths and aren’t, supposedly, in a mood for frivolous activities. You dress in your finest outfits to honor them and make a distinction between your normal, daily activities.
On a side note, when I travel for periods longer than a vacation, I ALWAYS take a nice, black dress with me, just in case.
Thanks for all your news reports , FRiends.

Mitch McConnell is giving the Democrats everything they want. He is their lapdog! He didn’t stop trillions of dollars in spending by refusing to use the Debt Ceiling as a negotiating tool. He gave it up for nothing. Now he wants to give Manchin the thing he wanted in order to destroy America, and even the People of West Virginia….
….How about his tax on coal? The Republican Senate must do something about this absolute Loser, Mitch McConnell, who folds every time against the Democrats—and he’s only getting worse!
