A father in Ohio shot and killed his daughter's ex-boyfriend during an alleged break-in at the family home ... and it's all on video.
The fatal shooting was captured on a Ring doorbell camera, and it shows the moment 22-year-old James Rayl is gunned down after forcing open the front door.
Three shots ring out and Rayl stumbles down the porch steps before collapsing in the driveway ... and police say Rayl was dead by the time officers arrived.
In the video, you hear people inside the home telling Rayl to get off the porch and leave ... and there's also a verbal warning about someone having a gun.
The girl's father, Mitch Duckro, told cops he fired the shots ... and police say an autopsy found Rayl suffered gunshot wounds to both shoulders and his back.
The fatal shooting went down in July but the video just surfaced ... and earlier this month a grand jury voted against indicting Duckro on charges relating to the incident.
The kid shouldn’t have been trying to break in. No telling what he was gonna do if he got inside.
This was justifiable.

Folks above are making way too much about the second and third shots. Defensive coaching requires shooting until the threat is stopped. The first solid hit on a body causes recoil, spinning, falling, jumping, etc. There is no rule that says a trouble causing dumbass has to stand still so you can get a clear shot at him. If the shot that hit the back went straight in there might be a question. But if the probe shows the hit was at an angle it means the target was already spinning when the third trigger got pulled. And I didn’t see how large caliber the Dad’s gun was: A 45 or 357 might very well spin a dummy several times as well as lighten him up by removing body parts. In this case if he was still yelling about killing the daughter that needed to be addressed with a couple xtra rounds. Like the old sheriff said when asked why they shot the criminal 60 times: we ran out of ammo.

Agreed. The phrases, “went down” and “going down,” weren’t in much use in the past. It was like “groovy” in that sense. But sometime since 2000, the less technically inclined common consumer Internet subscribers picked it up from the song and from movies and made it more common. It’s an anti-defense thing...a lefty rebellion fantasy thing.
Unethical use of a gun. The guy (1) waited at the door for a few minutes and then (2) tried to open the door. Both activities are fine. Both actions are not mortal sins.
If the door is locked, then no need to worry about an intruder. If the door is unlocked, then simply ask him to leave.
Dialogue is always the first step and shooting is always the last resort.
By the way, did they skip doing a toxicology exam and report on the body of James Rayl? The drug-free people in America want to know.
Evidently your doors are special. Because most homes’ doors are not strong enough to keep our a determined person. If the door is broken/splintered from the action of the person trying to force entry no one should have to be surprised when the home’s occupants use a tool to stop the intruder.
I watched as everyone tried to get my toddler son to do all the jive handshakes in the mid-70s and I told them don’t do that, even in the Army before that I refused to do all that silly 2-minute hand bumping and gestures in place of a handshake.
From the late 60s when black street/jive culture started being promoted as the essence of cool and being real, the TV shows started working it in, cop shows started asking “what went down”, etc., all part of the breakdown of the culture.

they stopped the vid feed but the sound remained and he was shot the first 2 times facing the gun and the third shot was probably his back...
technically the first time he laid his shoulder into the door he was fair game.
You know her new prom date will be on time and polite to the parents when he picks her up.
