Cruz said, while he sometimes takes issue with Trump's personal actions, he has been aligned with the former president when it comes to policy.

Given the current state of politics in this country, I think the correct thing to say is simply: "I back Trump 100%. In everything. At all times."

Trump accused Cruz' father of being involved with the JFK assassination. Cruz has been able to support Trump on policy, but it is a bit much to expect Cruz to support Trump's personal attacks on Cruz' own family.
