Sen. Ted Cruz: Trump 'Just Broke' Liz Cheney
Newsmax ^ | Monday, 29 August 2022 | Charlie McCarthy

Posted on 08/29/2022 12:41:27 PM PDT by conservative98

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, said former President Donald Trump simply "broke" Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., who "decided she is a Washington, D.C., left-wing Democrat now."

Cruz, speaking on his "Verdict" YouTube show, spoke of Cheney's recent loss in the Wyoming Republican primary after she joined House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's Jan. 6 select committee as vice chair.

"There are some people who Donald Trump just broke," Cruz, R-Texas, said. "They hate Trump so much that their mind went on fritz.

"And I got to say, Liz is unrecognizable. She has become a left-wing Democrat now."

Cruz said, while he sometimes takes issue with Trump's personal actions, he has been aligned with the former president when it comes to policy. That is unlike Cheney, whose remarks stemming from the House Jan. 6 Select Committee are "indistinguishable" from Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., or Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., according to Cruz.

"Trump came into power, and her mind just shattered," Cruz said.

"Cheney's circus act on the Jan. 6 commission is indistinguishable from what Nancy Pelosi would say. It's indistinguishable from what [Senate Majority Leader] Chuck Schumer would say."

"She didn't just lose, she lost by almost 40 points," Cruz said. "And the reason is simple – she doesn't represent the people of Wyoming anymore. The people of Wyoming are conservative. And she has decided she is a Washington, D.C., left-wing Democrat now."

Following her primary defeat, Cheney said she intends to continue her assault on Trump after losing in her bid for reelection. She added that she even was considering running for the White House in 2024.

Cruz told "Verdict" co-host Michael Knowles it was a "badge of honor" that Cheney had made him the "No. 1 person on her list" in attempting to defeat conservative Republicans.

I can understand some people not liking President Trump, but Liz Cheney’s obsession with him just isn’t normal. Not only has she gone left, she had gone crazy.

Given the current state of politics in this country, I think the correct thing to say is simply: "I back Trump 100%. In everything. At all times."

Trump brings every weasel out of their hole. Anything Trump draws their noisy screams as they pop up their heads, and pow! Weasel gone. You’d think they would learn.

Liz Cheney is giving America a front-row seat to her debilitating and chronic menopause psychopathy.

Liz is an echo speaker of the Beltway bureaucrats and their echo chamber. Liz thinks the Beltway bureaucrats have her back and will care for her. They won’t.

“Not only has she gone left, she had gone crazy”

Agree. Especially how the Rats treated her father calling him Darth Vadar and dumping on her about his relationship with Halliburton. Not necessarily a big Dick Cheney fan however it is her father.

So, Ted has a YouTube show called ‘Verdict’. I didn’t know that. Good for him to have formed an outlet for his creative energies and political expression. I hope YouTube allows for this conservative demographic show to stay on for a while.
Now, Rand Paul needs a similar show if he doesn’t already have one.

It’s not normal, but she’s not alone among erstwhile “conservatives” who have fundamentally changed politically due to what we call Trump Derangement Syndrome. Just a few others who come to mind include: Bill Kristol, Max Boot, David French, Jonah Goldberg.

Hey Ted, wake up. She was ALWAYS a left-wing democrat, she just lied about it, like all the other RINO’s.

Slavish adulation of Trump isn't required. Agreement isn't even required. Just don't decide to advance the Democrats' agenda as a means of getting rid of him. No matter how much she may hate Trump, the dude can only be President for one more term, and will be a lame duck. He's currently at war with McConnell, and has alienated a lot of other Republicans.

Point is, even if you don't like him and he were to get reelected...what the hell does she expect him to do that is so horrible? He'll likely push conservative policies yet again, and he'll likely say some dumb things again that won't really go anywhere. Then he'll be out of office, and that's it.

Leftism is forever. There is no 2 term limit. It is relentless, and if given a chance, will make structural changes in the country that will make recovery literally impossible. For her to see a single term of Trump as more dangerous than that is simply bizarre.

They didn’t change. Their masks just came down.

Sounds pretty adult of him. Cool.

It makes perfect sense when you realize she’s a DC swamprat.

I agree, you don’t have to love his style, but he did love the people and life was a whole lot better.

Today was odd for me. I ran into a lady who I know as big RAT supporter and she voted for Biden. She is very very unhappy with what Biden is doing and told me she may not vote for democrats.

That may not mean she will vote for conservatives, but she might stay home.

"I back Trump 100%. In everything. At all times."

Trump accused Cruz' father of being involved with the JFK assassination. Cruz has been able to support Trump on policy, but it is a bit much to expect Cruz to support Trump's personal attacks on Cruz' own family.

“I mean, what was he doing — what was he doing with Lee Harvey Oswald shortly before the death? Before the shooting?” Trump continued. “It’s horrible.” ( https://www.politico.com/blogs/2016-gop-primary-live-updates-and-results/2016/05/trump-ted-cruz-father-222730 )
