Three children in Georgia have been diagnosed with monkeypox, including one child who lives in metro Atlanta, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health.
Newton County Schools System announced Tuesday that one elementary-school-aged child in Newton County, a student at Mansfield Elementary School, has been diagnosed with monkeypox. Another child in the district who attends Flint Hill Elementary is undergoing testing for the infectious disease, according to school officials.
The Newton County School System said it was notified Tuesday of the confirmed and suspected cases.
In addition to the Newton case, DPH spokeswoman Nancy Nydam said one earlier pediatric case of monkeypox had been reported in metro Atlanta, but she would not specify which county the case was located in. A third confirmed pediatric case also exists in the state, Nydam said, but she wouldn’t say where in Georgia it was located.
Two year TOTAL LOCKDOWN to flatten the curve?
Well, it wasn’t an STD 50 years ago. TBH, the homosexuals have pretty much been doing Gain of Function experiments with their perverse behavior.
I seriously doubt that it has dropped its previous ability to pass via fomites and casual contact and become exclusively a sexually transmitted disease.
And like any pox virus, people are usually infectious 24-48 hours before symptoms become obvious.
Public Health officials have been stupidly woke trying to avoid “stigma”. A couple of school based breakouts and their lame response is going to blow up in their faces.
Of course they don’t mention that nobody ever dies from it and its not that easy to transmit.
So, it’s not just a STD as many people claim it is?
It never was just an STD! It's still a zoonotic disease. It can spread bi-directionally to and from humans and animals. The CDC and ordinary people need to take this seriously! If it gets established in wildlife outside of Africa, it will become endemic. That would mean requiring vaccinating pets and children against it. And don't forget! The vaccine for Monkeypox is the Smallpox vaccine intended for populations that can't take the regular Smallpox vaccines. In a release of Smallpox as a bioweapon, we would be screwed. There isn't enough packaged for distribution for quick reaction.
It's probably much easier to transmit between children due to less diligent hand washing and general hygiene among children.
Are they no longer vaccinating people for smallpox?? I was vaccinated for smallpox when I was 5 seems to me if they are letting millions in the country from 3rd world nations they would still be vaccinating for smallpox!!

Smallpox was still going around when I was a kid and wasn’t wiped out world wide until 1980. I didn’t want the scar on my arm. I never got the smallpox vax, nor did my family. No one caught it in our town and we were poor and didn’t travel back then. But I do remember when people moved to our town from Texas, they all had been vaxxed. Seems it came from Mexico.

We still don’t know for a fact that this is monkeypox.
And a question that NEVER gets asked for sone strange reason: Have any of the people afflicted with whatever this had a CoupFlu vaxx or were breastfed by a vaxxed mom?
