Yep. Took just long enough to manifest that it was all on me.

Even though they openly admitted it was their fault.

Never again.

Do the “rocket pods” come standard?

Are the cowlings and windshield bullet proof?

Rather have a rice burner...

Or a Ducati.

Fat dudes have two choices. Go on a diet, work out and lose weight OR buy a Harley.

The Harley-Davidson Low Rider ST in gray, long and low with saddle bags on a bright, sunny day.

There are many V-Twin cruisers and touring bikes that are not HD. I've owned both metric and HD cruisers. HDs are expensive to buy and maintain. Japanese metrics offer the best performance, dependability and value IMHO.

And then some of the color names like “cement” or “gravel”.

This “primer gray” color is showing up on cars and SUVs. I really don’t understand of all the possible color choices why manufactures have latched onto this particular color.

It's all about the sales pipeline. Most cars are either Black or White. Then comes silver. Colors appeal to too few on an individual level.

My 1st HD was a year old when I bought it and still had a year warranty left when I discovered an inner primary leak.

I decided to to take it to a dealer other than the one I boot from and they refused to cover the warranty and repair it.

I called Milwaukee directly after that and they said to just take it back to the dealer where I bought it and they would cover it no problem.

They also said they were gonna call the dealer that refused to do the work and straighten them out.

Some of the dealers can be buttheads, however a call to the mothership has cured that attitude every time.

I know of a couple of old HD rider/mechanics that in the past would go off if anyone said anything positive about anything other than HD. Theyve traded in all their HD and moved to Indians because they just couldnt put up with all the problems and liked the improvements from them.

I've been working through my garage to get all the bikes back on the road. Lots of downtime because I was simply too busy or the weather was bad. The 2009 Fat Bob needed a new fuel pump. $180 in parts and my labor. It also needed a replacement battery. It's running again. My wife's Piaggio BV500 needed a replacement battery and replacement of the fuel hose between the fuel pump and filter assembly. Back on the road. The Kawasaki Versys just needed a battery. The DR650 didn't need any work. On the "todo" list is the Kawasaki VN950 (likely a battery). Harley Sportster and Honda CTX700. Running out of good weather, so I might not get all finished before the first snow.

My Yamaha Roadliner (2000 cc V-Twin/113 cu in) has a smaller engine than that new Harley. It's 850 lbs and becoming a challenge to push around at age 66. The Yamaha SR400 is easy to move, but presents a challenge because of the kickstart only 400cc engine with a compression release. I'm leaning toward lighter bikes now.

I bought a new Harley-Davidson FXS Low Rider in 1978. That's no Low Rider. That's a bagger.

THIS is a Low Rider.

3. I don’t have a garage.

4. I don’t have a lift.

5. I don’t know anyone who’ll wrench for free beer and food anymore.
