Aprank call led local law enforcement officers to the home of Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene early Wednesday morning in what her office described as a "political attack on her family and home."
Greene tweeted Wednesday that "she was swatted just after 1 a.m." and expressed her gratitude to the Rome Police Department in Floyd County, Georgia. On Wednesday morning, police confirmed the swatting incident in a press release that included a redacted report on the incident.
"Swatting" often refers to the harassment or deception of emergency personnel in order to get authorities to go to a particular residence.
"Right now, Congresswoman Greene's safety is our number one concern," Greene spokesperson Nick Dyer told Newsweek, adding that "whoever committed this violent crime will face the full extent...

Was the prank call placed using 911? If so, they know who did it. If not, the police should have asked for ID, address and phone # from the caller. That way they could have simultaneously dispatch a unit to wherever that is/was.
I can understand why they want MTG dead. She’s too photogenic, and too smart for them, as is shown by AOC’s refusing to engage with her, and her Georgia drawl puts the lie to the stereotype that southerners are all supposedly slack-jawed morons with sheets and hoods in their closets. So she’s target #2 in this latest persecution campaign, just starting.

I appreciate that Newsweek refers to it as a ‘prank’ instead of what it really is; ‘swatting’.
Makes it sound like ringing the neighbor’s doorbell and running off. ‘Geez, Mom, we weren’t really hurting anyone. We were just having fun.’
Now the FBI has stooped to making “prank calls”.
Swatting is NOT a “prank” call ... it’s attempted murder.
That’s not a “prank call”. It’s an assassination attempt.
The real trick is to hold the phone on the other side of an electric fan and talk through the fan.
The headline made me think of a Christopher Walken skit on Saturday Night Live where he appeared on a show “Pranksters”: “I pranked him to death with a tire iron”.

No prank. Newsweek should be shut down and all its assets redistributed. This is a capital crime. They tell the cops that someone is at that address with a gun and is threatening. The cops arrive ready to shoot.
