Climate change has already increased global temperatures, greatly increasing extremes. This will continue unless greenhouse gas emissions are reduced to “net-zero”. The 1.5°C target of the Paris Agreement requires emissions reductions of around 50% in the next 10 years.
Newborn babies are particularly vulnerable to high temperatures. They have a limited ability to thermoregulate – or control their body temperature – and can easily become dangerously hot or cold.
Older babies and toddlers can thermoregulate better. But they are often unable to communicate their temperature discomfort. They rely on caregivers to help them adjust clothing and change their environment – like opening a window or seeking shade.
Africa has some of the poorest and hottest countries in the world. This means that young African children are at particular risk of heat stress impacts.
There has been little research into the impact of climate change on child heat-related deaths in any region of the world.
To address this knowledge gap, we estimated present day and future heat-related mortality due to climate change in African children under five years. We did this using a range of different global heating scenarios and information from a small number of existing studies relating temperatures to heat-related child deaths in Africa.
Climate change accounts for approximately half of these deaths. The additional deaths due to climate change cancel out the recent reduction in heat-related deaths that was achieved through developmental improvements.
Our research underscores the urgent need to reduce emissions and take adaptation measures to reduce the impact of heat on babies and children.

We all know the climate changes. It gets miserably hot in other places at certain times of the year also. That leaves three choices....accommodate to it the best you can, move, or just put up with it. Then there is a 4th answer that has never proven to work...spend a lot of money to combat it & end up with emptier pockets & not much else. Africa could utilize A/C but doesn’t have the electrical power to make it feasible or the highly insulated buildings that might help. And I don’t think it will happen anytime soon either. Folks who insist on living in Antarctica must be freezing their butts at least part of the time, too. That’s how it is.
Then the African adults need to get off their lazy asses and do something about it.
If they did, slavers would have caught them anyway. Face it, it sucks to live in sub-Saharan Africa. Somebody’s got to do it. Small wonder that they keep showing up in Tijuana looking to get into America, not that there’s anything right with that.

But like every epidemic, it came and it went. Viruses mutate, become less lethal, and people learn to be more careful about them.

What warming there is will occur in the temperate latitudes both north and south of the equator.
Well, then, they totally bamboozled the NY Post into running a front-page splash and multiple-page feature. NY Post might no be savvy, but at least back then it was no tool of the deep state. It discussed how heteros got it, too, because of poor sexual hygiene including running sores on genitalia, and promiscuity on a level unheard of in the US even among hippies and hookers. Perhaps you were in an unaffected area? Where in Africa were you?
The supply-side of the African slave trade came from blacks capturing other blacks and selling them. That really didn't become a thing until the centuries of the Little Ice Age made it virtually impossible to feed everyone. Desperate times make all leaders into Hitler and Stalin -- thus they took over each other's land and sold each other into slavery on a scale that had never been done at any time by any culture. All of this was done during the most recent cooling period -- not during the Modern Warm Period.
Why can't we appreciate life during the Modern Warm Period when crops grow so well that our governments literally pay some farmers to keep land fallow?

I bet it is well meaning people sending food. Feed and clothe them, they reward the world with 12 kids per adult male PER female they can have sex with. Now feed me, or is it FEED ME?
Let a civilization live or die by its own efforts.
It is the same with Europe pulling the “cork” and welcoming millions of people in. Leave them in place and let them figure it out themselves. It is the same in America. Without illegal and legal immigration, we would be at a cozy 220 Million population. Instead, we are destroying our own country by “pulling the cork” on the S. border.
When your neighbor has problems that spill over into your yard, you don’t invite them to move into your house.
