Victims don’t get any say?

Aren’t victims of crime “consumers of crime” ?

Shouldn’t there be consumer protection laws for consumers of crime?

California probably doesn’t want to lead the nation on this sort of consumerism.

How long can this sort of practice continue until there is irrevocable, irreversible damage to society.

If we can save only one criminal from a life of crime, it’s got to be worth it.

This is my California. Always setting records. 70% this year. We’ll be shooting for 80% next year. We call it progress.

A California district attorney has found that more than 70% of criminal suspects released on $0 bail between 2020 and 2021 in his county committed new crimes.

And another 20% didn't get caught... hard to believe 10% stopped being criminals. But I guess anything's possible.

How does this compare to the percentage of criminal suspects released on MORE than $0 bail?

Crime pays. And when the expectation of getting punished drops to zero, it really pays. And when that expectation includes a negative incentive for the victim to even report it, nobody even knows how much there is. And when that happens the media report that crime is decreasing as a result of “enlightened” policies, and the spiral continues.
