Message - "An error occurred during processing. The card was declined. Please ensure the billing address is correct." I reloaded a blank page, typed in everything fresh, checked every detail two times. Same message. I went to Judicial Watch. Typed in exactly the same information and donation. The charge went through instantly and appeared instantly on my online credit card account.
And I just got an unsafe site warning from Norton. I don’t like jumping to conclusions, but I can’t help but wonder if it might be the newest salvo against conservative speech.
Thanks for the info, William Clark.
My computer is still showing FR as a secure site.
I am using Windows 10 and Edge browser, which actually add security when I make a donation.
I am wondering if my computer might be blocking something, too.
I’ve been making a $20.00 monthly donation via PayPal and haven’t had any problems.
It probably has more to do with a link behind the scenes. I would suggest private messaging Chris Robinson. No one in the general forums is going to solve this for you.
In the last half hour?
I have made dozens of FR contributions with this same credit card.
Never had a problem before.
I am waiting to see if someone else got a declined or successful charge in the same time frame as me.
So far, no contemporaneous donors.
The site certificate is valid which is the only “safety” with which you should be concerned. Norton and other outfits are using social screeners to mark websites as “unsafe.” FR is only unsafe to liberals and the demons who call themselves our leaders, hence the warning.
If you’re worried about safety on a website, just make sure the certificate is valid. That’s all that matters cryptographically.
That’s a pretty specific error. Have you logged into your CC’s website to check that nothing’s been tampered with?
Payment cards have three checks for not-present:
3 or 4 digit code on the card
Expiration date
Address with zip code
The address is based on your billing address. If you missed anything (Street instead of St, for instance), it could decline the transaction.
The zip code is the only thing that’s not obvious on the card, so it’s one of the few authentication factors that could be relied upon for the holder to get right. If your card has been compromised, one of the first things the bad guys do is change the email and street addresses as well as the phone numbers. If I were you, I’d check that your information is secure.
I always check the certificate before I charge anywhere.
FR certificate is good.
Yes - I checked my card site immediately.
No problems.
I assumed someone would donate with a credit card after me, and then tell me their card does not work, or tell me their card works fine.
So far, no sign of any credit card donors in my time frame.
Oh, I’m not worried about the safety at all. Just wondering if FR is being flagged that way due to someone’s political bias.
I had a problem once with the Mozilla autofill on my CC info, specifically the Expiration Date format was not as requested.
I’ve had the same problem in the past.
Email me all your credit card info and I’ll test it to see if I can resolve your problem...😁
