Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, hosted the third event run by the controversial, Saudi-backed LIV Golf series. If some state legislators have their way, however, it may never be back.

Two state senators, Andrew Zwicker and Richard Codey, introduced a bill on Tuesday that would effectively ban LIV Golf events from taking place inside the Garden State’s borders.

The Saudis also invested in the PGA. This is basically about a monopoly trying to protect itself.

You know....on a list of priorities of state residents, I don’t think this even cracks the top 1,000 issues. What is it....97-percent of the state have never even golfed in their life? None of this involves golfing at some public course....it’s at some privately owned establishment.

The way things are going, it may be both things at the same time.

The article doesn’t talk about inflicting punishment on anybody so your point while interesting doesn’t apply here.

If you are prohibited from doing business somewhere while others in the same business are allowed or if you have restrictions placed on you for no other reason then you are you then you are being punished.

So the SCOTUS has held for well over 150 years on any number of occasions.

Seriously, people watch golf? I thought it was a screensaver for people to take their naps to.

Saudi Aramco, one of the biggest companies in the world by money, is the top sponsor of women’s professional golf. Just today, Nelly Korda, the number one American female pro golfer and reigning Olympic Champion, won the Aramco sponsored tournament on the Ladies European Tour.

The PGA tour tried to make the decision to go to LIV golf a moral issue, citing the murder of Khashoggi and the Saudi record on human rights. The hypocritical PGA brass simply did not mention the tournament their players had leave to play in Saudi Arabia in February 2022 or their sponsorship of women’s golf. .

IMHO the PGA tour should have downplayed the LIV tour, not allowing anyone to play on both tours in a single season, but not trying for lifetime bans or ways to disallow already merited entries, such as in The Masters. Soon enough the players who jumped to LIV would not have enough world ranking points to qualify for much on the PGA Tour except as a past champion and LIV would fade from the scene.
