Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey, hosted the third event run by the controversial, Saudi-backed LIV Golf series. If some state legislators have their way, however, it may never be back.

Two state senators, Andrew Zwicker and Richard Codey, introduced a bill on Tuesday that would effectively ban LIV Golf events from taking place inside the Garden State’s borders.

With all of the shore resorts in NJ, let them try to ban miniature golf!

Just another way to try and hurt President Trump. He just hosted a LIV tournament.

One of the dirtiest vote-rigging states in the country.

Those illegitimate pieces of cheating Mitt should be ornaments at a local Esso station, not interfering with ventures that will make the state of New Jersey money.

A bill of attainder.... cool. How about a bill that Wendys can sell burgers there but McDonalds can’t. Same exact thing.

Unconstitutional.

Which constitution? Federal or state? Which part?

Nope. A law outlawing a certain practice is not a bill of attainder or ex post facto law, even if the law is designed only to apply to one person or entity. A bill of attainder declares a specific party guilty of a crime without trial. State legislatures have vast police powers, even when they use them in dumb partisan ways like they are in this case.

The LIV is blowing billions that won’t get spent on weaponry, etc. Leave them alone, let them waste their dough on golfers.
The golfers will use a lot of that money for charity to avoid taxes and do some good.

The PGA has had a monopoly for so long they can’t stand the competition. How this is bad I am not sure , let the PGA compete with LIV, if they can’t make it then they can fold up shop.

For what it’s worth, the U.S. Golf Association is headquartered in Far Hills, New Jersey … right up the road from Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster.

Wrong.

The clause thus prohibits all legislative acts, “no matter what their form, that apply either to named individuals or to easily ascertainable members of a group in such a way as to inflict punishment on them without a judicial trial. . . .”

(United States v. Lovett)

The Saudis also invested in the PGA. This is basically about a monopoly trying to protect itself.
