My brother and I had bunk beds growing up. I never rolled out of it. What is wrong with kids these days?

This happened to me, 11 years old at Scout camp. No injuries but some serious ribbing for months.

I did stuff that should have killed me a hundred times.........................

Yes, if you are not used to bunk beds upper, you could roll out during the night....................

Had that other player not been wakened by him falling, He's lucky it wasn't me, because I have always been a very heavy sleeper.đ
Glad to hear that the surgery was successful, and that the prognosis is positive.

I did stuff that would have ............... put me in jail more than once. But we could get away with youthful indiscretions then...

As a kid, mine had a guard-rail on it, except where you entered with the ladder.
My older brother forced me to switch when I wet the bed.
Problem solved.

I love the Little League World Series. I was watching the regionals this year and saw the scariest, most heart warming thing ever on a baseball diamond.

We had Bunk beds when I was young. Rolled off the top and broke my collar bone, but slept through it. My sister heard me moaning and my parents woke me, called a cab and took me to ER.

I grew up with bunk beds and never had a problem. My sons had them too for a while.
However, the top bunk should always have some kind of railing like pictured below. If these bunks didn't have that, then there is no excuse for that.

Attended a menâs retreat some years ago at what was a Young Life camp near Asheville, NC. The cabins had three-level bunks and one of the attendees (was in his 60s) fell from the very top bunk, sustained massive head injuries and ultimately died as a result. Was a very tragic accident at what otherwise was a great retreat.

Maybe horsing around, but probably not at 2:30 am when you are there for the Little League World Series. He probably rolled over and down he went.
