Florida teens hit with homicide raps after 16-year-old pal killed in drag race that hit 120 mph

A pair of Florida teens has been charged in the drag-racing death of one of their young passengers, according to reports.
Austin Lewis, 17, and Kristopher Trenker, 19, began racing each other at speeds of up to 120 mph July 24, Tampa police said.
Payton Fordyce, 16, was in the backseat of Lewis’ vehicle when Lewis suddenly swerved to avoid an oncoming car and smashed into a cement culvert.
The vehicle flipped several times and partially ejected Fordyce, killing him.
Responding police said Lewis was drunk at the time, with a 0.08 blood-alcohol level. In Florida, impairment is .08 or higher.
Tampa police arrested both Lewis and Trenker on Wednesday after an investigation.

This same kind of disaster happened when I was a freshman in HS.
A classmate of mine was street drag racing and lost control of his car at 120mph.....................

This same kind of disaster happened when I was a freshman in HS.About a week after graduating high school in the mid 70's, 2 guys from my graduating class were street racing when one of them T-boned a car pulling out from a fast-food restaurant, killing a father and his daughter. What a way to start life after graduation!

No way. Ridiculous. That’s millions of people experiencing, and millions losing their lives this way. Not.
This goes along with the excuse I read the other day “every one of us has drunk and drove”. Nope. Not all of us. Some of us never even drink.
