President Trump had a standing order during his tenure at the White House, that anything he brought home with him was to automatically be considered declassified!
There is no higher authority than the President on classified material. It is non-sensical to think that an FBI agent or Archivist can override the President.
Most of us - older people - are already vaccinated against it.
Smallpox vaccine.
My younger brother, on the other hand who is 50 was not vaccinated.
Oops. Wrong thread.
Well, if Hannity says it, it has to be true.
How would folks know what had been declassified or not? Did Trump mark them? Was Baron able to check them out with his school chums?
If the president wants them declassified than its declassified.
This has to be one of the most ridiculous claims I've heard yet. Banana republic level, and I was surprised to hear Solomon say it. Such a policy paints Trump as a clown that would declassify national secrets just for his personal convenience. What's the next claim, a standing order that documents were automatically reclassified as soon as he returned them?
Hannity isn’t the only one saying it. John Solomon was on Hannity and said Trump had a standing order that anything he took out of the White House was immediately declassified. Solomon said he had numerous sources that said Trump did indeed have a standing order. Solomon gave an example of Bush declassifying something in his (Solomons) presence once just by saying such and such is now declassified. It’s not just Trump, all Presidents do it.
Clintoon lost our nuclear codes for months!
HOME MILITARY & DEFENSE:”
Bill Clinton once lost the nuclear codes for months, and a ‘comedy of errors’ kept anyone from finding out!

The codes needed to launch a US nuclear strike are supposed to be kept close to the president at all times.
A department within the Defense Department is tasked with overseeing all aspects of the nuclear-launch process, including the codes.
During Bill Clinton’s presidency, officials from that department discovered the codes had gone missing.

Clinton Lost Nuclear Codes?
20,333 views Oct 22, 2010 In a new book, Gen. Hugh Shelton, who commanded the U.S. military during the Clinton administration, has revealed that the president lost the crucial codes needed in order to launch a nuclear attack. Bob Orr reports.
That’s a good question because I am positive that it will come up. Thus, I investigated. Marking always occurs after declassification. That means marking does not make a document declassified, it simply a procedure after declassification, which depending on the bureacracy may not occur immediately. As for the President’s power to declassify, it does not require process or following of law. It is strictly a constitutional power as part of being chief executive. That is spelled out in a USSC ruling. I posted an article the other day on that. Scalia joined the with the majority in the opinion.
And, was it reclassified when it went downstairs? How about when it left the White House.
I understand he has the “right” to do it. So, if he takes it upstairs, he could give it to someone when they left the White House? Or was it still a secured document?
“Hey, I’m going to read up on the B-21 bomber and Columbia SSBN programs this weekend at Mar-A-Lago, so that’s unclassified now”.
I look forward to seeing this standing order, and I doubt it is anything similar to Solomon’s words.
Columbia has an SSBN? Who knew? Worth a thread of its own.
So if you understand he has the right to do it, what’s your issue? You think he’s too stupid to know what is really important and what isn’t? Just come out and say you don’t trust the guy instead of these mental gymnastics you’re putting yourself through. As MANY people have said...way too much crap gets listed as classified in the government.
It doesn’t have to be written down! Thanks for your display of ignorance and proving you didn’t listen.
Couple of Never Trumpers on board.
Is that you Mr. Bolton?
That doesn't really matter.
The president has absolute authority to declassify documents at his whim and this authority is not predicated on some underling filing the paperwork and changing the labels.
If the president said it's declassified, it's declassified.
Admittedly, we are in uncharted water here because something like the raid on MAL has never happened before but ultimately, if Trump wants to fight this, he's going to win.
