“The gun used in the fatal shooting on the Rust movie set could not have been fired without pulling the trigger, ” far-left ABC News reported, summarizing an FBI forensic report.
This is in direct conflict with actor Alec Baldwin’s claim he did not pull the trigger on the gun that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins last year during a camera rehearsal.
“No, no, no, no, I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them, never,” Baldwin told George Stephanopolous in December. “The trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger,” he added.
The FBI says otherwise:
"Accidental discharge testing determined that the firearm used in the shooting — a .45 Colt (.45 Long Colt) caliber F.lli Pietta single-action revolver — could not have fired without the trigger being pulled, the FBI report shows.
With the hammer in the quarter- and half-cock positions, the gun “could not be made to fire without a pull of the trigger,” the report stated.
With the hammer fully cocked, the gun “could not be made to fire without a pull of the trigger while the working internal components were intact and functional,” the report stated."
As of this writing, Baldwin has yet to comment on the report.

Sounds like this revolver has a transfer bar safety. If so, Baldwin definitely was pressing the trigger.
All the more reason that live ammo should not have been anywhere on that job site.

It only took a couple of years for Mr Potato Head’s finest to figure out something that common gun users knew within hours after it happened once they identified the gun used.

I think a Marine said months ago when this first came out, “if this was a pistol to the Head suicide scene I bet he would have checked that pistol.”

However, Baldwin DOES know about guns. There’s been plenty of armorers on his sets whom have provided safety instruction. Aside from that - Baldwin’s dad was a firearms instructor and taught him about guns.
You’re exactly right. In the 1/4 and 1/2 cock positions pulling the trigger will do nothing.
The hammer must reach the full cock position to set the trigger.
I just wanna make sure - the FBI tested the actual pistol that was used on the set, not just one of that make/model, right?
So, then, hang him high. And why did he hire that ignoramus as his armorer on the set, anyway. She looked down the barrel? Wow.
There is video of Baldwin pulling the trigger. He is guilty. He needs to be in jail.
If Alec decides to publicly lay that accusation on the FBI I will not touch a finger to the keyboard to defend them.
I thought there were questions about the whole setup.
Were they actually ready to film the scene when this happened or was it some kind of rehearsal where bullets weren’t needed and pulling the trigger was not needed?
