“The gun used in the fatal shooting on the Rust movie set could not have been fired without pulling the trigger, ” far-left ABC News reported, summarizing an FBI forensic report.
This is in direct conflict with actor Alec Baldwin’s claim he did not pull the trigger on the gun that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins last year during a camera rehearsal.
“No, no, no, no, I would never point a gun at anyone and pull the trigger at them, never,” Baldwin told George Stephanopolous in December. “The trigger wasn’t pulled. I didn’t pull the trigger,” he added.
The FBI says otherwise:
"Accidental discharge testing determined that the firearm used in the shooting — a .45 Colt (.45 Long Colt) caliber F.lli Pietta single-action revolver — could not have fired without the trigger being pulled, the FBI report shows.
With the hammer in the quarter- and half-cock positions, the gun “could not be made to fire without a pull of the trigger,” the report stated.
With the hammer fully cocked, the gun “could not be made to fire without a pull of the trigger while the working internal components were intact and functional,” the report stated."
As of this writing, Baldwin has yet to comment on the report.

Alec must accept his fate.

Same as Bill Clinton’s, same as Hillary’s, same as Hunter Biden, etc
yeah??? let the FBI stand in front of one and let me pull the hammer back and let it go and see wut happens...
REGARDLESS, THE GUN HAD A BULLET IN IT!
So poor baldy isn’t to blame?
HE IS, HE PULLED THE TRIGGER without checking to make sure it wasn’t loaded.
Anyone given a gun to ‘shoot at someone’ should always check for safeties, even if they’re told it was not loaded and safe to use.
Who in the right mind would not?
He deserves a BIG punishment for stupidity.
Even worse, I don't think it could fire with a pull of the trigger either from half cock position which I always considered a safety. Double action sure but not single action, at least none that I ever handled.
Being as the FBI lies about everything now, this actually strengthen’s Baldwin’s case.
Yes.
It involves HOLDING THE TRIGGER while “fanning” the hammer.
I might have felt sorry for the poor fool, who just doesn’t know guns. But he’s Alec Baldwin and I have my double standards!
Ya think?
...let me pull the hammer back and let it go and see wut happens..
That’s called “cocking” it.
This is similar to the very last episode of Perry Mason.
They were filming a scene when someone is killed, allegedly by a stunt gun.
SPOILER:
.
.
.
.
It was actually someone with a real gun, and it was Dick Clark of all people.
Baldwin is gonna lose a heap of cash.
“Anyone given a gun to ‘shoot at someone’”
And even after you check the gun out you still don’t point it at anyone, including someone not even in the scene.
And there was a requirement for a ballistic shield for the crew, which was not used.
Baldwin was in charge of the set, he’s responsible for all of the above.
“FBI Says Deadly ‘Rust’ Gun Could Not Have Fired Without Someone Pulling Trigger”
fortunately for baldwin, no one believes the fbi anymore ...
imo…They won’t arrest Alex
Alex hates Trump….
Alex did their bidding on Saturday Night Live
His reward is freedom.
Interesting.
LOL.
5.56mm
Well, we are talking about the vaunted FBI here.
Regarding the title of the article, is a gun only deadly after someone dies from it?
I thought all guns and mostly all weapons were deadly.
More people die in America each year by weapons called “hands and feet” than by all rifles for example.
Bull.
I once pulled the hammer back—almost all the way; without locking—accidently and that sucker went off.
Scared the crap out of me and my knees started to wobble thinking what would have happened if my brother-in-law was downrange of me (he had just stepped back to the firing line).
It was a screw up on my part. I had no intention to make the piece fire, but you know about intentions. Lots of people get killed.
