Dame Olivia Newton-John (73) passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends. We ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time. Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer. Her healing inspiration and pioneering experience with plant medicine continues with the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in her memory to the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund (ONJFoundationFund.org). Olivia is survived by her husband John Easterling; daughter Chloe Lattanzi; sister Sarah Newton-John; brother Toby Newton-John; nieces and nephews Tottie, Fiona and Brett Goldsmith; Emerson, Charlie, Zac, Jeremy, Randall, and Pierz Newton-John; Jude Newton-Stock, Layla Lee; Kira and Tasha Edelstein; and Brin and Valerie Hall. - via John Easterling, husband, Olivia Newton-John

Wish she didn’t try to change her image in the 80s, it seemed so forced.

And I won’t even get into that “Physical” video.

“Take heart. In my mind, i’m still in my 20s.”

Yeah, in my mind, so am I. In my body, not so much.

I enjoyed her songs - especially "Make A Move On Me"

My wife (blonde w/BIG blue eyes) also lost a battle to breast cancer at 28 and I suddenly became Mr Mom to my girls, 4 and 1.

She had a VERY striking resemblance to ONJ on this album cover and my oldest daughter had a large poster of the album in her bedroom.

Kinda feeling bummed out with this news...

“Poor Minnie, so young to go like that.”

Minnie Ripperton. NO ONE could hit that high note on “Loving You” like she did.

John Stamos' brother tried...

Interesting stuff...Minnie Riperton possessed an innate coloratura soprano vocal range giving her the ability to sing in a whistle register, producing a sound almost mechanical. Mariah Carey acknowledged that she was highly influenced by Riperton’s range above the scale.

Oh dayum!

All of her songs were good. I can’t think of one I don’t like hearing.

Xanadu with ELO was great.

Goodbye, Olivia, you brought joy to so many hearts, which was noble and Godly!

So saddened to hear this! Beautiful lady and catchy songs. She had more class and talent in her little finger than Madonna had in her whole body. Prayers for her family.

My biggest disappointment with ELO — and unfortunately Time was part of that — was getting rid of the strings. It was ELO’s signature sound, and it was so unique for the genre. Going all electronic ruined them for me. It just wasn’t the same band I loved.

“Dame Olivia Newton-John (73) passed away”

More of a babe than a dame, in my opinion.

Well, God blessed her with that, because it is almost otherworldly.

No; that distinction belongs to the utterly insufferable Pina Colada song. I have no idea what the actual name of the song was; but it was the most insipid song ever. Well, maybe “Muskrat Love” was the worst.
