Roger Earl Mosley, who played helicopter pilot Theodore "T.C." Calvin on the original Magnum, P.I., has died. He was 83. Mosley starred alongside Tom Selleck during the show's entire run, from 1980 to 1988. Mosley appeared in two episodes of the remake series starring Jay Hernandez.
Mosley's daughter, Ch-a Mosley, announced her father's death on Facebook, reports CBS Los Angeles. He died at 1:17 a.m., surrounded by his family, Ch-a wrote. "We could never mourn such an amazing man. He would HATE any crying done in his name," Ch-a continued. "It is time to celebrate the legacy he left for us all. I love you, daddy. You loved me too. My heart is heavy but I am strong. I will care for mommy, your love of almost 60 years. You raised me well and she is in good hands. Rest easy."

RIP.
That’s not Ice Tea?
Quite sad. I enjoyed him as T.J.
That is an interesting comment.
It seems like it has been in just the last couple of years the AP stylebook adopted the capitalization of “Black” to underscore the move to stigmatize that non-monolithic group whose membership I have no idea how to describe.
AP decided not to capitalize white.
If Black describes black people, where do brown people fit?
Is it a matter of self identity; or is the old “one drop rule” still considered valid?
“Is the actor who played Rick still living?
Yes, Larry Manetti is alive and well age 75. He had a recurring character totaling 8 episodes between the two reboots of Magnum and Hawaii 50 over the last ten years or so.
He appeared in the Magnum P.I. series reboot in 2019 for two episodes. Also was in the reboot of the 2013-2016 Hawaii Five-0 show for 6 episodes.
so do I....magnum pi was the man...
As a boy, Jim saw an uncle lynched when he was a boy. He was smart enough and hard working enough to get a chemistry degree from the University of Alabama in the early 1960s and a later doctorate in Urban Studies at Yale. As a Nixon administration appointee in Connecticut, the Klan burned a cross on his lawn.
When such a friend preferred to be referred to as Black, I deferred.
I’m watching Magnum P.I. on Charge as I’m typing this reply. Tom Selleck has two great series...but his co-stars are great, too.
Only recently has it been prevalent that the liberal media began to capitalize “black”. We on FR raised a stink when it began. Maybe it is technically proper (which is doubtful), but it has not been common usage until the woke fascists started it — IIRC just after druggie George Floyd became a saint.
Dumb Az
Sad. BTW, I clicked magnumpi and all I saw were articles against the new magnum pi. I ain’t watched it.
“IMO he was a much better “TC” than the guy in the new series.”
The original was one of my favorite shows. I couldn’t bear to watch even five minutes of the re-make. Blasphemy.
There was a Magnum PI reboot? Who was in it?
It’s usually on CBS at 9:00 ET Fridays. Don’t know any of the actors but the Higgins charter is a woman so I have no desire to see it.
The 5-O reboot ended in 2019.
shut you dumb ass

Correction, I enjoyed him at T.C. Don’t know why I typed T.J.
