This is the moment six Russian commanders were killed in a Ukrainian ambush, according to one of Kyiv's senior officers.
Dramatic footage captured how a two-vehicle convoy - said to be carrying the Russian top brass back from a meeting - were struck by anti-tank missiles.
Footage, thought to have been captured on the Donbas frontline near Avdiivka, shows how the lead vehicle was blown to smithereens before the second rolled over.
-snip-
It comes after Lieutenant Colonel Olga 'Kursa' Kachura, 52, who was Ukrainian-born but fought for Russian-backed separatists in Ukraine's east, was reported killed.
Kachura, who commanded an artillery battalion, was said to have died after a missile struck her car as she drove near Horlivka, not far from Avdiivka.
It is not currently clear whether the missile strike captured on video and the strike that killed Kachura are one-and-the-same.
She is Russia's first female frontline officer to be killed in fighting, having dubbed herself 'she-wolf' and boasted on state TV about how she enjoyed killing Ukrainians.
Kyiv's military intelligence service says Kachura joined the ranks of the so-called Donetsk People's Republic in 2014 when Putin last invaded the country, and was responsible for shelling civilians in the Donbas during that war.
Kachura helped found the local militia, and had led hundreds of men into combat.
She had gained near-mythic status among Russia's rank-and-file after appearing in Kremlin propaganda in which she revelled in the bloodshed.
'I enjoy killing Ukrainians every time,' she said in one clip, while giving herself the moniker 'she-wolf' in another.

“In the rear with the gear, so to speak ...”
Well, next time there is a war, you can go in and fight it unsupported; you can march into hostile territory that has not first been prepped and cleared by Air Force personnel; you can make your own ammo and supplies in the field, because, really, you don’t need those folks “in the rear, with the gear;” they are, after all, just REMFs.
easy now....
She died doing what she loved.
Remember the U.S. Marine General who testified “I like brawlin’.”?
It’s kind of what Mr. Lincoln was looking for, and not finding, in McClellan.
Abraham Lincoln: “My dear McClellan: If you don’t want to use the Army I should like to borrow it for a while”
psst, I was a REMF of sorts. I happen to be a civilian, but the distinction between Lockheed and Uniformed was kinda blurry ;-)
Sadly I was not physically qualified to serve. Only member of my family who wasn’t “in”.
In the most extreme sense a “REMF” is a fobbit - loud, useless, safe and “in command!”
Bummer…….never saw a Hot General before.
War is hell.
The Federal Army had a string of inept and incompetent senior commanders (McDowell; McClellan; Burnside; just to name three). Lincoln’s smartest war move was to elevate Grant to senior command.
.
Panther is German. Sherman is American, and we lost a LOT of Sherman's.
.
You propagandists should listen to your leader, otherwise you are going to look very stupid.

Fobbits have always existed to one degree or another. Mostly, they wanted recognition in their record without having to earn it. When I was in, they were called Beggars. But Fobbits or Beggars are exceptions, and support troops should not be slandered as being one and the same with them.
An army moves on its stomach ... and its logistics.
I wasn’t slamming support troops, promise.
“I wasn’t slamming support troops, promise.”
I believe you.
.
Here is Zelensky's chief advisor to prove the point, and who knows, maybe you are him. lol
.
REMF doesnt simply mean support troops. It was used for rear echelon “heros”. The oh so brave “kill em all” loudmouths who were never in nor ever would be in the front lines. Like the sick war porn keyboard warriors on the FR.
Not guilty. RIP.
.
Your rather sick propaganda spiel doesn't mention that the Sherman commander with the amputated leg died of his wounds.
Frikkin' vulture.

Ah, Stolen Valor types. Unfortunately, the pejorative “REMF” and the phrase “in the rear with the gear” do not make that distinction. Sadly, there are some people who see support troops as somehow less, or inferior, to front-line troops; and those support troops are denigrated accordingly.
During Vietnam, I served in the USAFSS (that was Air Force Intelligence back in those days). I served in Asia, but not “in country.” Our mission was to intercept intel and comms to and from the Soviet Union, which was bankrolling and supplying the NVA and coordinating their operations. We were very much involved in the war, though not “up close and personal.” But we found out what they were up to, and we reported it up the line. That was intel our in-country forces could and did use.

That is an interesting comment. I’d like to think it was directed more to those FReepers who are cheering on the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and high-fiving each other every time there is a report of a Ukrainian setback or Ukrainian loss of life, and gleeful at the slaughter that was unleashed by Russia. Hell, they can get downright giddy about it.
