'I'm so sad': Six Starbucks stores across L.A. area permanently close

Hollywood resident Sara Blair has been living in the neighborhood for the last four years and every morning, she would head to the Starbucks on Hollywood Boulevard and Vine Street for her daily caffeine fix.

By Wednesday morning, the green Starbucks logo had been removed from the front of the now-vacant building. The store was pitch black inside and the front doors were locked.

That store is one of six Los Angeles locations that permanently shuttered at the end of July due to "a high volume of challenging incidents that make it unsafe to continue to operate," according to a Starbucks spokesperson, who cited the ongoing mental health crisis, drug use and chronic homelessness as contributing factors.

In addition to the six L.A. stores, 10 locations across the U.S., including in Portland, Ore., Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and Seattle, were closed. Starbucks employees “in good standing” were given the opportunity to transfer to a neighboring store, the company spokesperson said.

"I'm so sad," said Blair, who works near the former Hollywood and Vine store. "It's my favorite Starbucks."

Blair said that over the years, she had walked by the store and seen the front windows had been smashed in and boarded up. She also recalled one time when she went to get a coffee after work and the store was surrounded by police officers following a "hostage situation," in which someone had allegedly walked into the building with a weapon.

"They keep their doors locked in the morning and when they're closing," she added.

I know of one Starbucks with a drive through window. Always a massive line of idling cars.

And, every one of those are inextricably related to the insanity of liberalism.

A) Does Ms. Blair vote liberal? B) Does she make the connection between an imploding LA and her politics? C) Because until she does, there will never be a solution. Only the Helen Reddy song: "I am woman. Hear me whine."

The intersection of Hollywood and vine? Must be some obscure intersection in a dangerous part of town. 🤣

Funny thing about third world countries. There are a few rich people but a lot of poor people and crime is rampant, so large corporations tend to avoid those kind of neighborhoods. And I now see California as a third world nation. At least in that sense.

So much for US Cityscape....chaos, violence, looting and beatings. Nothing says a nation in decline like the lawlessness in the cities.

And now is a fine time to push a pretty generous employer of bird brains with Gender Studies degrees for unionization.

"...Sara Blair has been living in the neighborhood for the last four years and every morning, she would head to the Starbucks..."

Let's see...

365 days a year X $5 a cup = $1825.

Sounds like Starbucks did Sara a favor by closing. I would go as far as calling this an "intervention".

To be fair, presuming Sara has a Starbucks frequent flyer account, she gets a free drink on her birthday. ;o)

“large corporations tend to avoid those kind of neighborhoods”

Which is why grocery stores bug out also.
There’s no mandatory requirement or law that says a business has to stay in an area and get beat up financially......at least not yet anyway.

I remember some time ago that Starbucks opened up their restroom facilities to the general public, virtue signaling in response to some type of event which was supposed to have been racist, I assume. That did not work out well. Who could have foreseen that? The idiots. They should have stuck to selling coffee, not trying to cure society’s ills by showing how righteous they are.

Really, Sara Blair’s political ignorance now prevents her from having nice things like fancy coffee. And she’s clueless of this.

Hmmm, what do those 4 places have in common?
