Teenage pro-life activist allegedly punched in the face while knocking on doors in Kansas

A Kansas woman allegedly attacked a teenage pro-life canvasser when the student knocked on her door Sunday.

The student, Grace Hartsock, was going door-to-door to turn out Kansas voters for a Tuesday referendum on abortion law. The incident occurred when she approached a home in Leawood, according to Students for Life, the organization with which Hartsock was volunteering.

Hartsock says a woman answered the door and politely stated she was not interested when she learned why Hartsock had knocked.

The second woman, whose identity is unknown, then reportedly followed Hartsock out of the house while berating her. SFL says the woman shoved Hartsock in the chest and began striking her head with closed fists.

Hartsock weathered the blows until the woman’s mother got the daughter to stop. The woman continued yelling, however, telling Hartsock, “I hope you get raped,” and “I hope you get run over by a car,” SFL says.

I wonder if the police with even bother to charge her with assault and battery. probably not. It was just a pro-lifer she attacked, so that doesn’t count as a human.

I’m sorry this teenage girl had to go through this. In some way, I blame her parents for allowing their daughter to even go “house to house, canvassing’ for a pro life cause. Yes, her cause was good and righteous, but read the room. Has her family been paying any attention at all as to how rowdy and violent the Pro Abortion crowd has gotten since the Supreme Court controversy started? Why send your daughter into the Lion’s Den? She didn’t even have a backup person with her. I wouldn’t send a child selling cookies without an observant backup.

I hope her family presses charges against that particular neighbor.
Her behavior was unacceptable and is known as assault and battery.
My guess is this fighting neighbor is from either the Antifa or Lesbian community. Both tend to overreact to Pro Life expression of any kind.

Kids need to learn self defense. My twin granddaughters have bee in a program for 6 years and they are good. They have never picked a fight, but have defended others that were being gang beaten. That took guts to step into a fight where 4 bullies were beating a younger child, who cowered. Oh course she was suspended with the rest of them, even the Milquetoast that was being bullied in front of a classroom between classes. The teacher stood there and watched. Once the bullies knew they met their match, the teacher stepped in accused my granddaughter of fighting. She pulled one kid off the kid being beaten and took her stance. All this was recorded and the principle said it was not her duty to step in. She said she would do it again.

Why send your daughter into the Lion’s Den?

I do not see that she was doing this at the Parents request. Leawood KS is not the lions den. Leawood is about as safe a place to canvass as any in the United States which is what makes it shocking. I did not see a "NO" sign at the house and my guess is that she did not stop at those houses. (If she was wandering around Wyandotte county that would be problematic .)

The daughter was probably a radicalized dope smoking KU Dropout living at home who hopefully is arrested and has a big legal problem for assaulting a minor. (Dope smoking....just guessing based on her pajama tent and storing 50 bags of Dorito munchies on her hips.)

You have a good point. I am all for learning self defense. It can be learned at most any age 5 years and up. One cannot protect kids from all the bad guys of the world, nor should they attempt to.
