The unnamed traveler was handed a fine of 2,664 Australian dollars ($1,874) after two undeclared egg and beef sausage McMuffins and a ham croissant were found in their luggage on arriving at Darwin Airport in the country's Northern Territory last week.

The statement went on to confirm that the passenger had been issued with "a 12-unit infringement notice for failing to declare potential high biosecurity risk items and providing a false and misleading document." The seized products are to be tested for foot and mouth disease before being destroyed.

I wonder if you have as many McMuffin plants in your garden as I do?

Might be hard to prove that the McDonald’s food is anything biological.

Sausage biscuit is one of the items that causes some weird issue with me. It gets stuck in my esophagus and crazy amount of acid comes up from my stomach. it feels like I am having a heart attack. I just have to wait for it to go down or puke it up.

But I like them...so I have to chew tiny tiny bites and massacre it in my mouth before I swallow

McDonald’s is your kind of place
They feed you rattlesnakes

French Fries between your toes
Hamburgers up your nose

The last time I went in there
They fried my underwear

McDonald’s is your kind of place

I haven't eaten fast food in years - so I didn't know about the 'underwear' bit...

Australia confuses me. They try to portray themselves as a nation of rugged individualists doing their own thing. But the reality is that Australia is as much a nanny state as France. Maybe more so.

Australia (and New Zealand) make a FORTUNE selling meat to the U.S. and other nations because they don't have any livestock diseases (FMD/ASF/END/etc.) so they maintain an extremely tight quarantine on any livestock or livestock products.

You probably won't see it in the grocery store, because it's largely used in pet food.

We do the same thing here, it's just that the fine is $300 instead of nearly $2k.

And I thought I was cool back in the 90’s when I smuggled a live baby alligator 3 feet long in my luggage from Orlando to Chicago.
