I was trained that way, too. I have a Button Jar that is overflowing. Time for another jar!
As for the last time I actually REPLACED a button? No comment. :)

Finally got my crocheted afghan done for the Fair. I’ve looked up all I need to know about entering the afghan, canned goods and photos this season. (I’m hedging my bets for more Blue Ribbons!)
As soon as I get the ‘loose ends’ taken care of, I’ll post pictures for critique. I have until Labor Day Weekend, so if I need to take some of it out (AGAIN) I have the time. I’ve already adjusted it once, but, you know, I want to WIN! ;)
Other than that, making cotton dish cloths that I package with a bottle of dish soap and a scrubbie sponge for my local Food Pantry, and I’ve started making Bookmarks from paper scraps and ephemera for a fundraiser for our new Library. SO excited about that; the new Library, not necessarily the bookmark making. ;)

I just took my sweet wife over to the store in Raleigh owned by NeedlePoint.com. They do a big on line business and they have a pretty good size store for Needle Point enthusiasts in Raleigh.
As someone who has been to hundreds of needle arts stores (quilting, cross stitch, needle point, Bernini, sewing furniture etc) I would give it a solid “A” in size and selection. It is larger than Family Arts in Phoenix, for example. We also hit a good store in San Mateo, CA a couple of weeks back.
I will say that there are fewer stores of this caliber out there IMHO.

My sister got me hooked on making ‘patchwork’ pillow cases for chair cushions. Just knit any size patch, any pattern any size and sew them together. Very colorful and comfy!

YES! Someone understands the importance of specific scissors, stored in specific locations, used for specific tasks.
Misusers should be shot.

I managed to put out a little shrug last month. It's from a book I like, One Skein by Leigh Radford. I love using up one skein of yarn. I have collected about 100 of them. It's great to use them for something! Conveniently (?) I have a newborn preemie granddaughter in the NICU right now. It went to her. It is pretty small.

In the barf department, our only yarn store has just put 3 knitted uteruses (uteri?) in their storefront window. Can you imagine the approving conversations that led up to that anti Roe v Wade Supreme Court decision? They have a big online business for those of you making buying decisions, Ewetopia.

One of my old bosses had a sign like that on his three-hole-puncher.
(I swear he was the model for the Red Stapler guy.)
