Owning a private jet is one of those far-fetched luxuries the average person can only dream about during a five-hour domestic flight cramped up in economy class.
For the uber-wealthy, a private jet is not just a luxury, but it can also be a pretty lucrative business. Celebrities can enjoy traveling anywhere on a moment’s notice, and when they themselves aren’t in the air, they can rent the jet out for others to use.
Experts estimate that an hour of flight time aboard a private jet introduces about two tonnes (also known as metric tons) of carbon dioxide into the air, meaning Jenner’s flight could’ve produced about a half tonne, or 500 kilograms, of CO2 during its brief flight. The average person, meanwhile, produces around 8 tonnes of CO2 — per year.

On a side note, most big name celebrities rent/lease jets from the super wealthy owners of big corporations and companies.
I feel the same. If I had as much money as these people, I would never fly commercial again. They just need to keep their mouths shut to us peons about “climate Change”. Some of them are too stupid to figure that out... DeCaprio, John Kerry, Harry and Me again etc..
They’re important and you’re not. That’s their rationale.
Well it looks like they backed up their claim.
So I will not pass it on.
Now, about volcanoes and particulates, the meme might be true.
Who would’ve thought that movie to be prophetic?!
Agree
Bttt.

I live in Florida - hurricanes are unpredictable until the last hours - imagine a million electric cars trying to flee, stuck on major hwys going north and running out of charge … thousands dead - months bringing gas powered generators to clear major highways. This is reality.

That Catturd tweet ought to be on billboards.
I don’t mind it either.
BUT
If they’re going to preach the gospel of Gaia and call for others to make real cuts in their standard of living, you bet I’m going to throw it back in their faces when they themselves do not live up to what they preach. Hell, I’m gonna do it with gusto.
For much of Earth’s history the climate has been warmer, wetter, and had higher levels of CO2 (a trace gas). The planet would be better off with CO2 levels quite a bit higher than today’s. Climate change is driven by the Sun, variations in Earth’s orbit, and the wobbling of Earth on its axis.
I was in the big Virginia snowstorm last winter. Spent ten hours sitting still and another 3 hours driving till I could get gas. I was well below half a tank when I hit the traffic jam. I finally pulled over and slept in a parking lot. Zero worries about running out of gas or freezing. (I also had some survival gear.) Can’t imagine the anxiety the self-Righteous EV drivers were feeling.
It’s like the movies and shows are starting to get boring because they use this medium to lecture us about everything. It’s either virtue-signaling boring or so action-packed with things blowing up and killing that you have a hard time watching.
It is not the CO2 that deserves complaints, it’s the hypocrisy of the elites and their do as I say, not as I do mentality.
These important people need their jets to save the planet. And besides. They purchase carbon indulgences from The Holy Goreacle.
Certainly not this fast or this extensive. In a lot of ways I think societies around the world have well surpassed the movie.
Some of these short flights were repositioning the aircraft for maintenance. Not all.
