I exited a plane a few weeks ago, of course I had a parachute.
Remember, it’s not the fall that kills you... it’s the sudden stop when you hit the ground.
It’s been a while for me, but I too, will go to my grave having taken off in more planes than I’ve landed in.
I exited a plane last month but didn’t need a parachute because it landed safely then taxied to the gate.
Are there still places that let novices jump solo? I made a few sport jumps many years ago, and I wonder sometimes about trying it again (even at 67, I bet I could still do a PLF without breaking anything). Everywhere around here seems to be all about tandem jumps.
