CHARLESTON, WV (WOWK)—A man has been arrested for making terroristic threats over Twitter against certain West Virginia officials.
The West Virginia Department of Homeland Security (WVDHS) said that 35-year-old Michael Edward Herman threatened members of the state legislature and law enforcement officials that advocate for or enforce abortion bans.
WVDHS says Herman also used intimidating language against Governor Jim Justice, Attorney General Patrick Morrisey and Vice President Kamala Harris.
The Capitol Police, the WV Fusion Center and the Romney Detachment of the West Virginia State Police worked together on this case.
WVDHS along with Governor Justice’s office say that they urge citizens to abide by the “see something, say something” principle when they read, hear or see something that could threaten the safety of the community.

Yeah, he’ll probably be sentenced to 40 hours of community service.
What’s missing from the article? WHAT THE GUY SAID. But he used “intimidating language” . That’s a pretty plastic charge. The internet, as it happens, is crammed with outraged Americans using “intimidating language”. Food for thought.
Okay I googled his name and found a better story
“CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — A Hampshire County man was charged Tuesday after allegedly making threats on social media toward elected officials in West Virginia, court records said.
Michael Edward Herman, 35, of Romney is accused of attempting to use threats of gun violence “to affect the outcome of a legislative session,” according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court. He is charged with making terroristic threats.
In the complaint, Capitol Police said they were made aware on Tuesday of threatening posts aimed at West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice, state Attorney General Patrick Morrisey, various state lawmakers and law enforcement regarding pending legislation that would ban abortions in the state.
In response to Twitter posts by Justice, Morrisey and Vice President Kamala Harris, Herman allegedly wrote “We the people will not comply with abortion bans, and we will defend our rights with deadly force if necessary. If any law enforcement officer chooses to infringe on the rights of women seeking abortions or those assisting those women, they render their lives forfeit.”
In another Twitter post, Herman allegedly wrote “How about we the people just say ‘**** you’ and take up arms, defy abortion bans and shoot anyone that tries to stop us?”
Herman is also accused of threatening to “shoot, kill or ‘overthrow’ any and all members of the West Virginia Legislature that do not agree with the ‘pro-choice’ messaging and policymaking,” the complaint said.
Investigators said they were able to connect Herman to the anonymous Twitter account. A Google search for the Telegram account also resulted in “numerous social media accounts, articles and videos related to the name Michael E. Herman,” the complaint said.
Police said the posts, read both individually and as an aggregate, represented threats to commit terrorist acts and potentially cause bodily harm.
Herman is currently being held on a $30,000 bond in Potomac Highlands Regional Jail.”
Not in West Virginia.
I thought the left stated if you didn’t have a Uterus you had no say regarding abortion?
>> “If any law enforcement officer chooses to infringe on the rights of women seeking abortions or those assisting those women, they render their lives forfeit.”
Yeah, that’s a direct and illegal threat.
Post 8 - love it! 😂
Had this creep left Vice President Word Salad out of his rant he would be sleeping soundly in his own bed right now with half a million likes on his Twitter rant from fellow leftists POS.
