General Motors (GM) on Friday revealed the Cadillac Celestiq, an electric car that will reportedly cost approximately $300,000.

The Celestiq will be built at the company’s Technical Center in Warren, Michigan, according to the CNN report.
“The Celestiq features technology already available on other Cadillac models, like Super Cruise, GM’s hands-free highway driving system. It also has a 55-inch diagonal display screen and a glass roof that can darken to different shades in each of four different zones,” the outlet said.

In June, the Biden administration’s push to have more citizens driving electric vehicles (EV) encountered a dilemma due to EV prices climbing in the last year, according to recent data.
“The price leap follows President Joe Biden’s call back in March for Americans to purchase an electric car to escape high gas prices, promising to ‘double down’ on his pursuit of green energy,” Breitbart News reported.

Guaranteed not to make a dime for GM. So far VW, Ford and GM are losing money on every EV they make. It appears that given a free choice people prefer the reliability, safety, range and easy refueling of vehicles with internal combustion engines. The Democrats are pushing unwanted, uneconomical EVs. Soon the car makers will be screaming and demanding a bailout. If the Republicans win big in November auto stocks will drop steeply.
The tradeoff is in length of time to charge battery as well as the cost of electricity to charge.
EVs, depending on the size and specifications of the battery, typically take at least 30 minutes to get 80 percent charged at the fastest charging stations out there.

The Baker Electric of 1910 sold for 2800 today that would be over 80k. And the range was similar to todays EV’s when you consider the condition of the roads.
It was also thought to be a very feminine vehicle as it didn’t have a clutch, gearshift, a smelly carburetor, and you didnt have to crank start it.
