Sergey Smagin, vice-president of the Russian Chess Federation blamed the boy for the incident.
"There are certain safety rules and the child, apparently, violated them. When he made his move, he did not realize he first had to wait," Smagin said.

Good article bad proofing

the boy was not phased (fazed) by the incident

Nothing fazed her.
Criticism did not seem to faze the writer.

2a: a distinguishable part in a course, development, or cycle
the early phases of her career
b: an aspect or part (as of a problem) under consideration
3: the point or stage in a period of uniform circular motion, harmonic motion, or the periodic changes of any magnitude varying according to a simple harmonic law to which the rotation, oscillation, or variation has advanced from its standard position or assumed instant of starting
4: a homogeneous, physically distinct, and mechanically separable portion of matter present in a nonhomogeneous physicochemical system

The programming didn’t foresee this kind of action on the part of the boy. The programs followed their instructions. The program had no awareness or knowledge of “boy” “finger” “grab” “crack bone.”

Although the programmers may think they have covered every possibility, they usually haven’t, and the program acts in an unexpected way when faced with the real world.
