If you go surfing, be careful.

Take the wine route to Stellenbosch(if you like wine beautiful yet treacherous drive through mountains), table mountain. Blouberstrand for beach for great views of the Cape.

Also drive to Hermanus to see the whales and Cape of Good Hope..must not miss these. Stop at Boulders beach on the way to Cape of Good Hope and walk with the penguins and maybe have lunch in Hout Bay.

I used to go every other 3-4 years up until 2005 to visit family. Not sure about safety now.

There are a plethora of great tourist destinations throughout the whole country!

Of course, I haven't been back there since 1966...

I am traveling to So. Africa in the fall and will be spending time in the Cape Town area. Looking for recommendations
