Thought I'd hit you folks up for suggestions. I'll spend a winter month there. All I'm looking for is a hang out place. Walkable fun. Internet and plenty of restaurants, sports bars. Hopefully I'll have access to all football games. A place that caters to long term stays. No 'dorm. Perhaps less than $50/nite.
It points to the Golden Zone area.
One of the nice beachfront resorts if you can. I stayed at a resort opposite an island offshore that was lit up at night. Pretty cool.
One block inland, it was like a slum.
I know a missionary family there. Probably not your type of fun.
Haven’t been that far north as my tapatiós in laws think it’s off limits. We stay in Nayarit.
With all due respect, see America first!
Absolutely,
“Before it’s Gone.”
.
Dances with Wolves
Stunning views all along that coast, but the best is El Faro.
Keep in mind that pretty much any money you spend in a resort down there is going right to the Cartel.
Oh Man!
To have a West White Potter moored There!
My Dad taught me to sail one ages ago in San Diego.
What an experience!
I remember a book about a man touring a small group of Islands in a ‘WWP’,
Ever read that ?
Not WWP, but Sloop John B would do.
I didn’t read that, but any sailboat in that photo is pretty much in heaven, outside of hurricane season.
Mazatlan is a “real city,” not just some tourist destination.
Mind your business, you’ll never be aware of any cartel activity. It’s WAY more dangerous along both sides of the U.S. border.
I’d go back anytime. Same with Cabo, etc.
So where do I stay?
I never said it was dangerous.
You’ll just be giving your money to the Cartel is all.
Peace.
Pure Heaven is Correct!
I’m doing a search for the
Book and stumbling on WWP’s
For Sale,,,
I’ll never buy but They look great and are a Strong Little Sailboat!
Thanks!
I stayed here for a week with the family, it was great, but I’d stay lots of places in Mazatlan. It’s a real city, not just a little tourist trap.

Ditto Huatulco.
Great resorts and hotels.
The most important info item is whether or not you speak spanish.
There is english in the golden zone, but there is also double and triple price.
If you speak Spanish, learn the bus schedules and park yourself in a suburb. Any suburb.
Our family toured a resort “Pueblo Bonito” in 1993. It was smashingly beautiful. They were selling time shares and we not purchase.
