Gibbs Rule #121: Don’t drink out of Indian rivers
One of my favorite places to go for an all day picnic was nearby river Mahi in western India. The flowing water was waist deep and clear on a sandy bottom. We kids loved playing in the fast flowing water. But even as a teenager I knew not to drink that water.
Any natural water is full of bacteria, whether it is from a pond or lake or river. 95% of the time you will not get sick from drinking it. But other 5% it is risky. Best to boil it if you must drink it.
I’m surprised so many people eat basmati rice. I eat only rice grown in USA.
