An Indian minister who drank a glass of dirty water from a 'holy' river to prove to locals it's safe has been hospitalised after falling ill.
Bhagwant Mann, Chief Minister of Punjab, was airlifted to New Delhi after downing the polluted water from the Kali Bein.
Video showing Mann scooping up a glass of water and downing the filthy liquid has since gone viral.

As a certain addled president might say: “C’mon Mann!”
Thank you. Please come again
I don’t know about today, but 25 years ago, it was common to see half-cremated bodies floating down the Ganges.
That river is so dirty you can walk on it
Someone should give this fellow a biography of Louis Pasteur.
I’m surprised so many people eat basmati rice. I eat only rice grown in USA.
“has since gone viral.”
He likely went viral, bacterial, protozoan, and amoebic all at once.
Luckily, his cobra turned out to be VERY friendly. Whew!
is the video captioned: “Children, do NOT try this at home!” ?...
Worshipped wrong God.
Mostly dead, but some smartened up.
Meanwhile Christians can’t get to the Jordan river fast enough to baptize themselves in sewage. It’s ok to be religious AND use common sense.
The NUMBER 1 goal of all public health in India has been, for decades... potable, non-infective water. Filter systems, treatment and a host of other effective cures have been granted by the UN to India and many other countries in the area to ensure safe drinking water!
And this “mystic” clown in one move destroys his own narrative, and also shows how right the interventions are for pure drinking water. Ganesh, btw is an elephant/man spirit god. Even the elephants in India will not drink certain water sources— especially those filled with protein degraded remains of dead bodies, animals, humans whatever. Appalling someone would do this.
God helps those who help themselves don’t drink polluted sewage water.
Bidenesque stuff here.
Yeah, but was he vaccinated?
