This week federal prosecutors dismantled a major multi-state drug trafficking ring in Indianapolis.
A federal grand jury returned indictments against 21 people as part of a conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine.
“This was a big win for the city of Indianapolis getting these people off the street,” said Mike Gannon, DEA assistant special agent in charge.
2 members of high-profile Indianapolis meth and heroin ring sentenced According to federal prosecutors, the wide-ranging investigation involved 22 different law enforcement agencies. This week, officers served search and arrest warrants at 25 locations across Indianapolis and Fort Wayne, as well as Los Angeles, California.
In addition to making multiple arrests, officers seized 43 firearms, $300,000 in cash, four ounces of methamphetamine, one kilogram of cocaine and two kilograms of fentanyl.
“One of the reasons we’ve prioritized investigating people involved in trafficking fentanyl and other opioids is because the danger these drugs pose,” said United States attorney Zachary Myers.
Myers believes the case could prevent violence and fatal drug overdoses. The DEA claims even a tiny amount of fentanyl can prove fatal.
“A kilogram of fentanyl has enough potential fatal dosage units to kill 500,000 people. So the two kilograms we seized yesterday could have been enough to kill everybody in Indianapolis,” said Gannon.
According to the federal indictment unsealed this week, the drug ring operated from June 2021 through July 2022. Federal prosecutors characterized 56-year-old Keith Jones, an Indianapolis resident, as the kingpin. He also went by the nickname “Keybo.”
Man who brought meth from Kentucky to Indiana sentenced to 7 years in federal prison Jones obtained drugs, including meth, fentanyl and cocaine, from Kevin Backstrom, a Los Angeles resident who was considered his chief supplier, investigators said. Backstrom shipped various amounts of drugs to different locations, including residences, ...

They’ll be told not do it again and released
“officers seized approximately 43 firearms,”
I bet a bunch of those guns are illegal. You can’t stop bad guys from getting guns.

Jones was the boss. He had members of his crew getting the packages at their houses and businesses and stash them at 2877 North Centennial St. in Indy, which is just off Lafayette Rd., on the northwest side. That was the the main distribution point.
Court documents say Jones enlisted his 12-year-old daughter in the business, without giving specifics.
SPJNK.
As long as the Southern border continues to remain wide open, fentanyl will continue to pour across along with millions of illegals.
THAT is where the problem is.
Cue the riots cause seizures of drugs is racist /s
THAT is where the problem is.
Only part of it without users they are out of business it’s a 50/50 deal.
Must have forgot to pay the Bidens their cut.
Go figure.
Indicted. Now try, convict, appeal and uphold conviction, sentence and execute all 21 within a year’s time. That should be the goal to apply to ALL drug dealers from street hustler to kingpin!
Death to all drug dealers.
I’ve moderated a lot, though. I used to want to execute all USERS.
There will always be users. Always.
My husband’s nephew went to rehab a total of 20 times for opioid addiction - he was finally felled by a fentanyl-laced cigarette. Found dead in a hotel room. Huge problem in the town he was in, awash in opioids, especially fentanyl, which is cheap and available. Sadly, he could not shake his addiction.
Five children left fatherless.
I have no idea how to put a stop to it, as long as there are users for this poison, there will be a blackmarket to provide it.
I have no idea how to put a stop to it.
You can’t it’s a self abuse issue some like it to much to stop until it stops them.
Everyone know when they reach the tipping point but refuse to quit.
Executing all dealers and traffickers would be a good start.
And I forgot to mention, no need to execute users as they are self-executing.
There is no such thing as an illegal gun. Reference the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. There is only illegal USE of guns.
