Donald Trump has plans to purge the so-called 'deep state' beyond what any president has done before if he runs for and wins the presidency in 2024 and as many as 50,000 government workers could find themselves on the chopping block.

This wouldn’t reduce anything. It would just replace civil servants with political appointees.
This is 50,000 out of 3 or 4 million federal employees.
It is a drop in the bucket.
There needs to be a million man march out of D.C. at the tip of a bayonet.
Trump needs to man up and admit that his decision to play nice with all the demoncrats in federal jobs after his first inauguration and not fire them purely for political expediency was the chief reason they were able to cheat him out of the 2020 election.
Fool me twice, shame on me.
And the downside is?
Empty them out, get the republicans to vote them out. If they are in the executive branch they fall under the preview of the President. He can move them to the northern most part of Alaska and they will quit. All kinds of ways to skin a cat. Transfer people. Cut the funding.
That's absolutely outrageous and unacceptable!
He should fire hundreds of thousands of overpaid-do-nothing bureaucRATs (and gut the government).
Partially true, however there is no line-item veto so cutting funding requires legislation.
The president has limited ability to impound money - refuse to spend it. He\she is limited by the Impoundment Control Act of 1974. It provides that the president may propose rescission of specific funds, but that rescission must be approved by both the House of Representatives and Senate within 45 days.
You would be amazed how fiscally ‘stovepiped’ the budgets of agencies are. Very little discretionary money, all the ‘stovepiping’ is mandated by the Congressional budget process. That’s why when there’s a ‘crisis’ there’s all these extra spending actions to ‘plus up’ agencies involved in the crisis. In many cases its why we are almost always caught with our ‘pants down’ when something happens. We then scramble to get the initiative by throwing money at it.
Moving agencies would only work if it required no to minimal funding to do so. Building, leasing facilities, paying for transportation of ‘office O&M’, breaking local support contracts & starting new ones at the new facility, moving of employees, upgrading new facility etc. would require legislation.
It’s all simple to say, hard to do even under the best conditions.
Approximately 50,000 reasons to vote for him!
We need to fight a fire with a fire, a back fire to get rid of all those who use either their own feelings to or the party rule to determine the outcome. Many in government are not following the Constitution and that is the problem. Then we can go back the real form of government.
Cool.
If he can determine the right ones he can go a lot deeper than that.
If we have a republican congress with a majority of MAGA candidates it could be done.
As much as you want Trump to be a dictator,
You don't know anything about what I want.
Given the current makeup of that category of employment, the use of the word “servant” is not only inaccurate but I’m pretty sure its RACISS!
Good idea !
After you fire them, move the departments OUT of the beltway/K street influence. DOE moves to Houston, DOS moves to Tampa, DOT moves to Denver, DOD moves to Omaha, Dept of Transport moves to KCMO, etc. FBI moves to OKC or Tulsa (about as red as you can get). ....or disband them. Make EPA 2 people that work 4 hours a day.
Big “if”!
Best approach ally with a congresscritter that would benefit by having said agency move to his\her district\state. He\she can then brag about brining “jobs” in.
Hopefully they would have to hire locally since most government workers would rather die than live in fly over country.. you probably wouldn’t have to change the budget much, rent etc is much cheaper in America and pay rates can be adjusted to local rates.
I’ve seen estimates of half the staff would be lost.
I hate to burst your bubble but 99% of FedGov workers are no different than you or I. They have the same concerns, worries, like, dislikes that the rest of us do. I’ve lived in NoVa in the past and can attest to this. They’re not cavorting monsters lusting to strip other Americans of their rights. They may be fools with their votes. Note 40% voted for Trump, so not a monolithic group. Also, another thing that people don’t realize. It’s been measured independently that amazingly Federal employees put in more hours on the average then comparable private sector. Nothing in that previous sentence says the job they’re doing is necessary, it just states that people in it work long hours. The necessity of the job is a different discussion. Also, roughly 1/3 of all Federal employees are veterans.
Their voting proves they are NOT like us. And the number of hours worked does not necessarily mean productivity. I would say less than 50% should be kept.
The Left wants to destroy America and her foundations. You fight fire with fire by destroying the Left and their counterfeit, unconstitutional, and illegal governmental institutions. You shoot yourself in the foot (or the head) by destroying everything including America’s foundations and those things derived from the Constitution.
The moral and legal foundations of America - the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution - are maybe the most inspired and wisest legal and political documents in history. What is needed and I hope Trump is getting ready to do, is RESTORE (not destroy) our Free Constitutional Republic that is based on those documents.
