He'll be 65-a very good age for the office. The vinegar in him will settle down as he has demonstrated to be be our biggest fighter. Like Trump his positions will make our own pols squirm. We need the spice that captures the young vote in the name of freedom. The MSM will be unable to label him. and a medical background helps in the 'caring' department. He's simply more up-front with his opinions and like Trump he's willing to let the chips fall where hey may-refreshing.
A 2nd Trump term could will be quite successful and set an opening for the freedom lovers all Americans cherish. No opening for this 'kinder and gentler' stuff.
Lke Goldwater. In your heart you know he’s right.
Rand Paul has never demonstrated that he gets the existential threat to the nation that open borders poses.
I supported Rand until Trump came along.
Rand’s positions are generally great, but Trump was the right man at the right time and seems to be much more of a fighter than Rand.
More Trump please.
I really like Rand Paul, but image is everything...
I like Rand Paul in the role he is in. He is strong and outspoken in some areas, and a complete squish in others. I don’t want him as POTUS.
the way forward:
—
DeSantis for Governor 2022
Trump for President 2024
Trump for President 2028 <— Trump’s 3rd term (since nothing’s in stone)
DeSantis for Governor 2028
DeSantis for President 2032
DeSantis for President 2036
DeSantis for President 2040 <— DeSantis’ 3rd term (since nothing’s in stone)
Flynn for VP. He has an axe to grind against the deep state. Let him use it.
Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding!
Agree....Pompeo/DeSantis would be my ideal. We need foreign relations experience at this point in time. All other categories requires their own experts operating under the guidance of the President.
Was Rand in favor of the wall? The libertarian view would be no. Removing welfare would keep them away but I’d be too late.
Senators have in the past proven to be lousy presidents. Senators are Talkers. Not people of Action.
Please name any instance(vote) where he played politics and did something hypocritical. Grandstanding issues?
He wouldn’t need Flynn as VP. FBI director perhaps.
FDR, Truman ?? Really??
Rand Paul knows the ropes in DC
Being a Governor is one thing and NOT the same thing as a President.
When DeSantis stops talking sound bytes about himself and Florida and starts talking about the rest of us, let me know.
Doing what a good Governor is supposed to do when you have backing and no one is really looking is one thing.
He might be a little too cocky and full of himself now. His shtick won't work the same for a President.
61 is better than 65. It just is. If he wants to run in 2024, he should. Give Republicans a choice. We’re not a damn monarchy, and we don’t do coronations.
I want him in charge of, responsible for, and accountable for all intelligence agencies.
Let him be in charge and do what he was going to do before they persecuted an innocent man and forced him out, much to all of their delight.
I want him to get medieval on our intelligence systems. He can exact revenge, and do our country a great service.
If you are interested (and I am gratified to hear some people who understand the injustice done that man, as opposed to some here on FR who say "Flynn pleaded guilty, so he should be excoriated" and say he got what he deserved) I have a document I created that has a timeline links, and information on this abuse and travesty:
Timeline, links, and notes of The Persecution of General Michael Flynn
Having a wealth of candidates who I’d feel comfortable voting for is a good problem to have, one I never thought I’d have when McCain and Romney were being anointed as Obama’s punching bags. I don’t agree with Rand on everything, but I respect his principles and the fact that he sticks with them. The Trump years showed us how many self-proclaimed “conservatives” and “libertarians” were phonies and grifters. Rand Paul isn’t one of them.
He will put Fauci on trial and de-construct the CDC and NHC
It is much closer to being the "same thing" than being a Senator. Not to mention the fact that DeSantis was in Congress before becoming governor so he also knows "the ropes in DC."
