In my limited experience HR seems structured to protect the employer from lawsuits; implement the appropriate seminars so they could stand up in court and say “We tried...” if an employee does or says something stupid to another one.
In my limited experience HR seems structured to give unintelligent, incompetent brainwashed “minority” leftists the power to destroy a company they could never have even imagined much less built.

That is true. They have been buying mob protection for a while too as well. HR is also implementing the demonkrap party’s initiatives and agenda in the workplace. There are no opposing voices allowed / tolerated. For example - to speak out against the imposition of personal pronouns as narcissistic crap, one can get fired for being disruptive and disrespectful per the employee conduct manual. It doesn’t flow the other way - that the imposition of this is disrespectful to those whose culture does not recognize it.
That is their primary 'mission', as it were, but they have also become islands of wokeness driven by the products of liberal arts education departments.
Back during the hubub during Clarence Thomas' hearings, a lady who worked in our department who thought the entire mess was bullshit told us we had explicit permission to sexually harass her. She was a but older than I, but still looked good. We had a great team in the department, and she was good tech. It was good to know that the lunacy wasn't going to affect us for a while. We just said 'Yes Ma'am, and continued with our work.
