Nice guy.
Hope he has a good rehab, two or three years, in Vermont.

Well, no doubt he will get THE BEST care possible, something not granted to the rest of us unwashed.
But even in spite of that, the odds appear to be against him. By the time a second surgery is needed, things are already not going well.

Most people his age do not recover completely from a broken hip. True, and many of them die within 18 months also.

“A bad person who has done a lot of damage to the country and our freedom.”
Yup. Remember when Bush II had just recently been elected and sworn into office in January, 2001? The GOP controlled the Senate 50-50, with VP Cheney being the tie-breaker. Then, the treacherous “Jumpin,” Jim Jeffords, a nominal Republican, switched to” Independent,” but caucused with the Dems, throwing the Senate to the Dems. Well, the utterly insufferable Patrick Leahy instantly became the Chair of the Senate Judicial Committee; and at his first press conference the first words out of his mouth were, “All of President Bush’s judicial nominees are DOA.”

Leahy is a dead man “not walking”. Broken hip in a man his age is a downhill slope at best.

RINO Sen Lowell Weiker used to let Ted Kennedy vote for him when Weiker was out of the senate. I’m not sure how that worked

Moving him from a rehab place for a second surgery to “enhance his recovery?”
Okay, whatever.

" why it is that so many politicians have no interest in ever retiring" It's a near perfect job for the lazy and slothful. You get paid a lot and don't have to do anything. Why would you ever retire?
