Military support for Taiwan and its sovereignty vis-a-vis China was stout in the Reagan era, such that when the original Top Gun was filmed, edited and released, the only question was authenticity. Real “Mavericks” were wearing that patch in support of Taiwan, so the movie version did too.
It’s better than the first, which I do like. It’s the best movie in years.
