The announcement comes after two unrelated patients from the southern Ashanti region of Ghana, both of whom later died, tested positive for the virus.
The patients had shown symptoms including diarrhea, fever, nausea, and vomiting, WHO said, adding that more than 90 contacts are being monitored.
Marburg is a highly infectious viral hemorrhagic fever in the same family as the better known Ebola virus disease and has a fatality ratio of up to 88%, according to WHO. "Illness begins abruptly, with high fever, severe headache, and malaise," it stated.

First Monkeypox and now this...........................
People must not be getting scared enough about monkeypox
Facebook is so bad with security they’ve named a real virus after FB’s CEO.
Forget the Monkeypox. Marburg is coming. Just a flight away. Good luck America.
Here we go. 🙄
The latest COVID didn't work.Bring Out Your DeadMonkeypox didn't work.
Come one people, we have an election to steal, break out the Marburg!

The false positive rate was 100%.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...
Quarantine the sick. Protect the vulnerable. Hang the guilty. Free everyone else.
When will they rename these viruses? Isn’t this bigottes towards Germans and Africans that live near those rivers?
A virus a day keeps the CDC in pay.
okay, time to lock down again....
