The war on fossil fuels is concluding—and the good guys are losing

This is a war with many fathers, all having different goals, and one big loser: the Western way of life.

There are several entities that saw a benefit in declaring war on fossil fuel: The environmentalists who are so historically illiterate that they believe a world without fossil fuels will be a bucolic paradise, rather than a Hobbesian nightmare; the leftists who want to break the West to rebuild it as a socialist paradise; the Great Reset/New World Order crowd, which envisions happy, possession-free serfs; and the Chinese, who foresee a bloodless conquest of the West which, believe me, will not be anybody’s paradise. While the winner among these groups isn’t clear, the loser is coming into focus: Ordinary people across the Western world. The latest example comes from Germany.

In 2018, President Trump warned Germany, which was proudly shutting down its own coal production and refineries, not to become dependent on Russia’s oil and gas:

Reliance on a single foreign supplier can leave a nation vulnerable to extortion and intimidation. That is why we congratulate European states, such as Poland, for leading the construction of a Baltic pipeline so that nations are not dependent on Russia to meet their energy needs. Germany will become totally dependent on Russian energy if it does not immediately change course.

Germany and other European countries, basking in Greta Thunberg’s approval and wallowing in their virtue, sneered at Trump’s words and went their own way. And then, in 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine. There is no “I told you so” big enough to encompass Trump’s prescience.

I guess we would say reality wins in the long run, but the destruction heaped on all of us for this folly in the here-and-now means that recognition is nothing more than a philosophical consolation.

That was my thought exactly. The EU and US globalists have attacked the poorer peoples of the world. Brussels and DC are responsible for spreading misery by manipulation of energy supplies to double the cost. The globalists are doing the same thing with the world’s food supply. The BRICS countries and all non western decadents reject this. The rest of the world reject everything the west now stands for. This, proselytizing perversions, cancel culture, etc. The rest of the world rejects the war on energy and is doing everything they can to lessen the damage to themselves and to turn this lunacy back on the west. It seems to me that eventually the EU and US populace will be forced to take matters into their own hands. Then the real bad guys in this, Brussels and DC globalists, will lose.

This is such a disaster that I honestly think it will cripple Democrats for a long time to come. This one issue is really forcing a lot of the middle and working class to wake up and recognize the fact that the Donkeys are the party of bicoastal elites who having nothing but contempt for the middle class and the working class.

The bulk of the “fossils” that fossilize to become potential fuel comprises vegetable matter—plant life—no?

The carbon plants use to grow, the carbon that allows grass to grow into the air as blades of grass, and trees to grow inyo the air as towers of wood, is inspired (breathed) in by those plants not from the soil, but from the surrounding air—oir atmosphere.

The very surface of the earth grows year by year like a layer cake in some lush areas such as rolling, grass-covered hills in southern England. Many times it’s why archaeologists have to use ground-penetrating radar and dig 10-15 feet to find the foundations of ancient roman buildings there.

It follows that periods of high CO2 or peak CO2 in the atmosphere will leave behind the richest veins of fossil fuels in the earth/in the ground.

Yup. You have to be a complete moron to use the term,”fossil fuel.”

Petroleum and coal are the proper terms for “bad energy” (among the “alternative energy” crowd.)

Coal is formed from plant deposits, probably ancient peat bogs that are compressed. So, yes, the carbon is from C02 that was once in the atmosphere.

There are several theories about how petroleum deposits are formed. One is that organic material in sedimentary rock layers forms petroleum. Another is that anerobic bacteria lives on hydrogen gas, hydrogen sulfide gas and carbon dioxide gas leaking from the interior of the earth and produces hydrocarbons.

I’m not missing any point. Germany has been assaulting western civilization for 100s of years. Longer if you go back to the Huns. News to you. Communism is a German creation.

I know plenty of Germans. I’ve lived overseas for 20 years. On an individual level, I had some that I was and am good friends with. I also have Russian, Chinese, and Iranian friends. Stupid point.

“The progressives are waging a war against common sense, practicality, prudence, good judgment, frugality, sanity, nature, natural law, the laws of mathematics, science, economics...”

None of that matters if they feel like they are doing the right thing. It’s all about their “feelings”.

You are correct about that. They really believe they are superior.
