“But doesn’t Britain use the metric system now?”

The UK is hybrid — Distances are usually in miles/mph; yards, feet, inches. Liquid measurements are pints for beer/ale and cider, but milliliters (ml) from wine, spirits, tonic, soda, etc. Gasoline is in imperial gallons. Most other weights and measures are metric although I have also seen pounds and ounces.

And British Pints are 20 oz vs US Pints are 16 oz.
