"Well anyway, Bannon’s house got swatted. Nobody was hurt, but heavily armed police officers surrounded and swarmed his fancy Capitol Hill townhome on Friday afternoon, according to a report from the Washington Post. The police allegedly went to Bannon’s address in response to a crisis hotline report that there was an armed man inside a residence on the 200 block of A Street NE, who had shot someone. As a result, police shut down nearby streets for about an hour."

The person who called in the fake threat was at a minimum trying to get Bannon to be placed in handcuffs and dragged outside for all the world to see (for more evidence of what a terrible, lawless person he is).

I've no doubt what they really hoped would happen is that somehow the interaction escalated to the point where the police shot Bannon.

Not sure who, but I recall about 10 years ago or more someone started a list of stories of people who's homes were raided by police because some swatter called in domestic violence with gun troubles.

The police or S.W.A.T. would show up busting down the doors in the middle of the night. There are more than a few times that a dog would react in defending the home and the police would shoot the dog, or even the owner a few times.

I vaguely remember that one time a homeowner was charged for shooting an officer. Not sure what happened to the guy, since the media refused to follow up.

99% of the time the victims were conservatives someone on the left was hoping would be shot by the police. Not sure if any of the perpetrators have ever been arrested, charged, or convicted.

I have two German shepherds, if someone breaks into my house the perp will be dead, if it's a swatter call, I am sure they would shoot my girls. But them I would probably be dead soon also, because you bust into my home, and of the dogs don't get you, my glock will.

We used to joke that a burglar would get licked to death because she was so gentle and even-tempered with her family. Swatting is attempted murder.

The home owner is innocent. The police arrive expecting someone to be shooting at them. The homeowner doesn’t know that and will likely do something that makes the police shoot him. This is the intention of the swatter. So attempted murder.
