One point I keep trying to make on here and almost always end up being scolded and getting vaguely threatening DMs about is:

No rape victim in the USA has to worry about a doctor, nurse, social worker, etc, trying to stop her from getting an abortion if she does end up getting pregnant from her assault and GETS MEDICAL ATTENTION immediately afterwards. Most doctors and nurses will offer “the abortion pill” RU486 if there is any concern. Yes, it may eventually end up being illegal, too, but at this time it’s not and the hospitals and clinics are not going to just throw out all those pills.

I’m not saying that it’s RIGHT for this to happen, it’s just RIDICULOUS FEARMONGERING to state that a rape victim is going to face persecution from the system over her concerns about pregnancy. No doctor or nurse in this day and age is going to say: “I will stand in your way if you seek an abortion after you are assaulted!” Even if they are opposed to abortion, they will more likely refer the victim to counseling rather than traumatize her all over again by suggesting that she will be stalked and persecuted if she doesn’t want to be pregnant with a rapist’s child. (Scold me all you want; this is reality and I didn’t make it that way except that in the past I voted for Democrats!)

No doctor is going to force a woman to go through with a miscarriage where the pregnancy is surely doomed to failure. Yes, at some point this may become the law, although I totally, totally doubt it.

The point is that what the leftwards are honking about is about as close to being 100% pure dee old bu11sh1t as it can be.

Other countries, I can’t really opine on. However, prior to the SCOTUS decision there were thousands of abortions a day in the USA. And many of these result in complications up to and including death of the mom who aborts her kid.

In all these cases, the death of the infant AND the possible death of the mom are due to the intervention of an ABORTIONIST.

Abortionists are almost always disgraced medical doctors or doctors who have had their licenses removed. If the law removes them from the community, there may still be abortions, but there will certainly be a lot fewer abortions. Careless, lazy gals will either start being more conscientious, or they will end up giving birth.

The pro-abortion people like to make a lot of noise about the EXTREMELY RARE incidence of some gal who is being trafficked or imprisoned being denied the “right” to abortion. This is just horse manure. Usually someone who is being trafficked is being taken to the abortionist by the person who is enslaving her.

Social workers are notoriously slack about doing “outreach” to drug cartels and their many slaves. They’re just serving whoever comes in the door.

Remove the abortionists and you will make life very difficult for some extremely bad people.

I would support using the morning-after pill for situations like you described. It can take up to several days for fertilization to occur.

But in nearly all other situations I would put the liberal on the defensive by pointing out how they are soft on crime for not wanting the death penalty for the rapist.
