There is only one motivation for such a study which omits common therapeutics.

This is exactly it and stated with excellent concision. Fauci is buying support for THE SCIENCE. Covid is/was nothing special and would have passed as every other flu season has, except for the intense propaganda campaign. Now they will do this “study”, the purpose of which is to buy fealty to the fascistic “public health” scam and produce fodder for 100s of stories in the MSM about how dangerous Covid is.
Too much, way too late for NIH. They should have enrolled everyone from the start!
As an aside, Harvard has an endowment of 50 Billion bucks, Stanford,Yale, and Princeton ain’t that far behind.
One would have thought these beneficial institutions of higher learning would have volunteered their copious assets (knowledge also)....to have developed smarter vaccines, and therapeutic tools, and drugs instead of the taxpaying public depending only on the us government to figure it out.

My daughter has long COVID. The doctors who see this all day, every day told her it could be with her for a year. She’s half way through the year and seeing improvements already. Sounds to me like this whole initiative is another waste of money, like everything else pissed away on COVID.
Covid is special in that it is one part of a man made bio-weapon.
This is a BS study to make vaxxing look good. Pure none sense.
