The guy could have been the best male tennis player of all time if he hadn’t been so injury-prone.

I’m old school. I found McEnroe v. Lendl more entertaining.
I lost interest when Sampras was competitive.

Tough break. He was clearly hurting during yesterday’s match. It probably hurt a lot worse today. At 36, how many more chances does he have?

Man, Tennis is so far gone from those days. Grew up on Mac, Becker, Lendl,Borg..America had a great run in the 90s though it was very good with Agassi, Sampras, Courier. I loved the big servers but after Ivanisvic won in 2021 , they slowed down the court and now it’s glorified clay, no serve and volley..incredibly boring tennis

Have not watch Wimbledon on 15 years. Bring back the servers ad volleyers at least for Wimbledon.

Bring back the servers and volleyers

Yep, which of course is why I enjoy female tennis and preferred a match with Martina Hingis, as far as you know.

Definitely the GOAT. He has to be crushed giving the freak Kyrigos, the scum
of tennis, a
chance to win Wimbledon.

Nadal would probably not have stood a chance against Kyrgios given the state of his injury.

Although most people think this w.o. gives Kyrgios an advantage in the final I am not so sure. It depends how the other SF turns out. If it is a grueling 5-sets match ending after 4h30min or so, then of course Kyrgios will be much fresher on Sunday. However, if say, Djokovic wins in a relatively short match then he has maintained his momentum while Kyrgios may have lost his match rhythm.

If Nadal could have played, he would have - no way would he give Kyrgios an easy walkover to the finals. Too bad - was looking forward to the match.

I wonder whether he would have given it a try if the last match wasn’t a tough 5-setter. Kyrgios is a PITA.

He may already be the best ever. He has won more majors than anyone else. Novak and Roger are one behind. Novak still has the best shot to be called the best ever.

He might still be the best of all-time. He is right now with more grand slam titles than any male tennis player. Novak Djokovic, though, may well pass him.

Yes, especially if Djokovic plays the Australian Open next year, where Djokovic is King.

The rules in tennis should change. If a winner of a match retires from the tournament, the player who lost should play in the next round as a replacement.
